Niantic is bringing back Diancie for all Trainers in a free Special Research Story (similar to the rerelease of Shaymin’s Special Research). For Trainers that didn’t purchase the paid ticket for Pokémon GO Fest 2023, here’s your chance to add Diancie to your Pokédex thanks to the free Glitz and Glam Special Research. Also, to celebrate the release of this Special Research, some Diancie and Carbink-themed Field Research tasks will be made available. Pokémon GO’s Season of World of Wonders – Glitz and Glam
Begins: Wednesday, May 1st, 2024 at 12 a.m. your local time.
Ends: Friday, May 3rd, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. your local time.
Pokémon featured – Carbink and Diancie
For the Glitz and Glam event, two Pokémon will be featured: Carbink and Diancie.
- Carbink: Trainers looking to catch some Carbink will be able to thanks to select Field Research. Complete the associated Field Research task and you can add Carbink to your team.
- Diancie: The Mythical Fairy- and Rock-type Pokémon Diancie will be available to all Trainers in Pokémon GO once again. For those who didn’t partake in the paid Pokémon GO Fest 2023 Special Research, Trainers can now catch one thanks to the free Glitz and Glam Special Research.

Field Research Tasks
There will be event-exclusive Field Research Tasks available and the rewards include the following: Carbink Encounter and Diancie Mega Energy. These Field Research Tasks can be found when spinning PokéStops (and acquired if you have an open slot in your Field Research menu) when the event is active.

- Task: Catch 10 Pokémon

- Reward: 10 Diancie Mega Energy
Special Research – Glitz and Glam
A free version of the Pokémon GO Fest 2023 which featured Diancie will be issued to all Trainers starting on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024 at 10 a.m. your local time. This Special Research can be completed outside of the time limit of the “event” (that limit is for Field Research tasks only).
Trainers that completed the Pokémon GO Fest 2023 Special Research (Pokémon GO Fest 2023: Fascinating Facts) will not encounter Diance again in this Special Research. Instead, that reward will be swapped with Diance Candy.
