Pokémon Horizons: The Series is finally releasing around the world. To celebrate the launch, Pokémon GO is hosting a collaboration event. Shining a spotlight on Pokémon featured in this new animated series, Pokémon GO will see the debut of Charcadet, Armarouge, and Ceruledge. We’ll also get some flair with yet another Costumed Pikachu, this time it’s the one from the show (wearing Cap’s hat). Pokémon GO’s Season of World of Wonder – Pokémon Horizons: The Series Celebration event

Begins: Tuesday, March 5th, 2024 at 10 a.m. your local time.

Ends: Monday, March 11th, 2024 at 8 p.m. your local time.

 

Pokémon debuts – Charcadet, Armarouge, Ceruledge, and Costumed Pikachu

 

 

Charcadet and its evolved forms, Armarouge and Ceruledge, finally join Pokémon GO! Plus, since this event is about the worldwide release of Pokémon Horizons, the show’s Pikachu will also be available in-game.

  • Charcadet: To get Charcadet, you’ll have to hatch some Eggs! During this event, Charcadet will be added to 2 km, 5 km, and 10 km Egg pools (but only in Eggs obtained from the event). After the event ends, Charcadet can be hatched from 10 km Eggs.
    • Armarouge: To evolve Charcadet into Armarouge, you’ll need to make Charcadet your Buddy Pokémon and battle some Pokémon. You’ll need to defeat 30 Psychic-type Pokémon in order to activate that evolve button.
    • Ceruledge: To evolve Charcadet into Ceruledge, you’ll need to make Charcadet your Buddy Pokémon and battle some Pokémon. You’ll need to defeat 30 Ghost-type Pokémon in order to activate that evolve button.
  • Pikachu wearing Cap’s hat (Costumed Pikachu): Straight from the new anime, you’ll find Pikachu wearing Cap’s hat in the wild (if you’re lucky), in One-Star Raids, and as a catch encounter reward from select Field Research task(s).
    • This Pikachu can be shiny.
    • This Pikachu will also know Volt Tackle (Charged Attack).
    • Going forward, this Pokémon will be referred to as “Costumed” rather than the exact outfit they are wearing.

 

Event Bonuses

  • 2× XP for hatching Pokémon
  • Team GO Rocket balloons will appear more frequently
  • Take a few snapshots during the event for a surprise! (Photobomb encounters with Charizard*, Costumed Pikachu*, Sprigatito, and/or Fuecoco.)

If any special event boxes or bundles are released during the event, they’ll be listed here once the event is live.

  • Ultra Legend Box (Pokémon GO Web Store, $14.99): 10 Premium Battle Passes, 3 Remote Raid Passes, and 10 Incubators.

 

Event Code – Captain Pikachu’s Bonus Timed Research

Added on Friday, March 8th, 2024, Trainers can enter the code CAPTAINPIKACHU in the Pokémon GO Offer Redemption page to get an encounter with Costumed Pikachu* via a Timed Research quest.

 

  • Task: Explore 3 km
    • Reward: 30 Poké Balls
  • Task: Catch 20 Pokémon
    • Reward: 5 Razz Berries
  • Task: Spin 10 PokéStops or Gyms
    • Reward: 3 Revives
  • Completion Rewards: Costumed Pikachu*, 5,000 XP, and 2,500 Stardust

Wild Encounters

  • The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild: Scyther*, Nosepass*, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, and Pawmi.
    • If you’re lucky, you might encounter the following Pokémon: Costumed Pikachu*, Alolan Grimer*, and Beldum*.

Eggs

The following Pokémon will be hatching from Eggs that are obtained during the event:

  • 2 km Eggs
    • 1-Egg Rarity:Pichu*, Togepi*, Gothita*, Solosis*, Fletchling*, Lechonk*, and Smoliv.
    • 3-Egg Rarity: Smoochum*.
    • 4-Egg Rarity: Charcadet.
    • 5-Egg Rarity: Larvesta.
  • 5 km Eggs
    • 1-Egg Rarity: Lickitung*, Sableye*, Roggenrola*, and Pawmi.
    • 3-Egg Rarity: Skrelp*, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, and Charcadet.
    • 5-Egg Rarity: Larvesta.
  • 10 km Eggs
    • 1-Egg Rarity: Tyrunt*, Amaura*, Carbink, Goomy*, Turtonator*, and Charcadet.
    • 3-Egg Rarity: Jangmo-0.
    • 4-Egg Rarity: Frigibax.
    • 5-Egg Rarity: Larvesta.

Raids

Standard and Shadow Raids will be active during the event.

 

Standard Raids

The following Pokémon will be appearing in Raids:

  • One-Star Raids: Costumed Pikachu*, Rhyhorn*, and Rockruff*.
  • Three-Star Raids: Chansey*, Noctowl, and Metagross.
  • Five-Star Raids: Tapu Koko* (See Additional Notes).
  • Mega Raids: Mega Sceptile* (See Additional Notes).

 

Shadow Raids

The following Pokémon will be appearing in Shadow Raids:

  • One-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Alolan Sandshrew, Shadow Murkrow*, Shadow Pineco*, and Shadow Croagunk.
  • Three-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Scyther*, Shadow Skarmory, and Shadow Golett.
  • Five-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Raikou* (See Additional Notes).

  • Standard Raids:
    • Tapu Koko* will be available after the event (in Five-Star Raids), until Thursday, March 14th, 2024 at 10 a.m. your local time.
    • Mega Sceptile* will be available after the event (in Mega Raids), until Thursday, March 14th, 2024 at 10 a.m. your local time.
  • Shadow Raids:
    • One- and Three-Star Shadow Raids will be available daily.
    • Five-Star Shadow Raids will be available on weekends (Saturday and Sunday), unless otherwise stated by Niantic.

 

Featured Attack for Costumed Pikachu

Costumed Pikachu will know the attack Volt Tackle (Charged Attack) when caught during the event.

Volt Tackle’s (Charged  Attack) stats are as follows:

  • Trainer Battles: 90 power +  decrease your opponent’s Defense stat by one stage
  • Gyms and Raids: 90 power

 

Field Research Tasks

There will be event-exclusive Field Research Tasks available and the rewards include the following Pokémon encounters: Costumed Pikachu*, Golduck, Skarmory*, Rockruff*, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. These Field Research Tasks can be found when spinning PokéStops (and acquired if you have an open slot in your Field Research menu) when the event is active.

  • Task: Hatch 2 Eggs
    • Reward: Costumed Pikachu* OR Sprigatito OR Fuecoco OR Quaxly Encounter
  • Task: Win a Raid

  • Task: Defeat 2 Team GO Rock Grunts
    • Reward:  Golduck OR Skarmory* Encounter
  • Task: Spin 5 PokéStops or Gyms

PokéStop Showcase

During the event, PokéStop Showcases will be active. The theme of these contests is to submit the biggest event-themed Pokémon. Specific Pokémon will be listed once the event is live.

  • Wednesday, March 6th, 2024 at 10 a.m. to Friday, March 8th, 2024 at 8 p.m. your local time: Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly
  • Saturday, March 9th, 2024 at 10 a.m. to Sunday, March 10th, 2024 at 8 p.m. your local time: Pikachu (including all Costumed Pikachus)
