This Saturday will be a busy one in Pokémon GO. Not only will January 2024’s Community Day event featuring Rowlet will be happening in the afternoon, but a different event will start up on Saturday morning. Sure, the Season of Timeless Travels has been adding Pokémon from the Hisui and Paldea regions, but for the Lustrous Odyssey event, this time we’ll see a new addition from the Alola region. (For more details about the Season of Timeless Travels, you can check out our overall Season of Timeless Travels guide hub.)

Now, check out what’s happening during the Lustrous Odyssey event with our guide below:

Pokémon GO’s Season of Timeless Travels – Lustrous Odyssey

Begins: Saturday, January 6th, 2024 at 10 a.m. your local time.

Ends: Wednesday, January 10th, 2024 at 8 p.m. your local time.

Pokémon debuts – Lycanroc (Dusk Form)

Lycanroc (Dusk Form) is finally added to Pokémon GO, but there’s a catch. You’ll have to catch/hatch a brand new Rockruff to evolve one into Lycanroc (Dusk Form) plus 50 Rockruff Candies. According to Niantic, “some Rockruff that Trainers hatch or encounter will be able to evolve into Dusk Form Lycanroc instead of Midday Form or Midnight Form Lycanroc.” In addition to acquiring a Rockruff with that evolution option, you can only evolve them into Lycanroc (Dusk Form) between 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. your local time.

Event Bonuses

  • Increased frequency of Buddy Pokémon bringing you Souvenirs.
  • Increased frequency of Buddy Pokémon bringing you presents.
  • Your buddy will spend more time on the map after being fed Berries or Poffins.
  • Rockruff hatched from Eggs received as Adventure Sync rewards during Pokémon GO: Timeless Travels may have a chance to evolve into Dusk Form Lycanroc.

This event also overlaps with January 2024 Community Day featuring Rowlet, so the following bonuses will also be available (only on Saturday, January 6th, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. your local time, save for two bonuses):

  • 3× Stardust for catching Pokémon.
  • 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
  • 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon.
  • Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.
  • Lure Modules (excluding Golden Lure Modules) activated during the event will last for three hours.
  • Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise! (Rowlet photobomb spawn. Can be repeated up to 5 times.)
  • One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of two for the day. (active from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. your local time)
