With Primal Kyogre returning (briefly) last Sunday, it’s time for Primal Groudon to star in their very own Raid Day event. For three hours, Primal Groudon will be available to challenge in Primal Raids, but the Remote Raid limit has been raised (so Trainers can try in other time zones). (For more details about the Season of World of Wonder, you can check out our overall Season of World of Wonder guide hub.)

Now, check out what’s happening during the Raid Day: Primal Groudon event with our guide below:

Pokémon GO’s Season of World of Wonder – Raid Day: Primal Groudon

Begins: Saturday, March 23rd, 2024 at  2 p.m. your local time.

Ends: Saturday, March 23rd, 2024 at 5 p.m. your local time.

Pokémon featured – Primal Groudon

Previously available during Pokémon GO’s GO Tour: Hoenn events (the in-person Las Vegas, Nevada, and the global editions), Primal Groudon returns! Trainers that challenge and defeat a Primal Groudon in Primal Raids will get a catch encounter with Groudon and will unlock the Primal Reversion mechanic for Groudon (similar to Mega Evolution). For more information about Primal Reversion, you can read the official Pokémon GO blog.

Event Bonuses

  • Primal Groudon will appear more frequently in raids!
  • Receive up to five additional free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs.
  • Increased chance to encounter Shiny Groudon.
  • The Remote Raid limit will be increased to 20 from Friday, March 22nd, 2024, at 5 p.m. to Saturday, March 23rd, 2024, at 8 p.m. PDT.

The Verdant Wonders event overlaps with Raid Day: Primal Groudon, but there are no notable event bonuses.

Paid Event Ticket Bonuses

Trainers can purchase an event ticket (priced at US$4.99 OR US$5.00 OR the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency) that will give them extra bonuses on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. your local time (that time frame includes five hours after the event ends in their time zone). This ticket will be available for purchase until Saturday, March 23rd, 2024 at 5 p.m. your local time.

Trainers that previously purchased the Primal Raid Day Ticket Box via the  Pokémon GO Web Store do not need to purchase the Primal Groudon Raid Day Ticket as it was included in that bundle. Also, that bundle is not available to purchase now due to it offering the Primal Kyogre Raid Day Ticket.

According to Niantic, “[t]ickets are nonrefundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service).” Tickets can also be gifted to Trainers you’re friends with provided that you have a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with them. This can be done via the in-game shop and by selecting the “Gift” button instead of the “Buy” button. Tickets purchased for friends are nonrefundable as well.

These event ticket bonuses will be active on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. your local time:

  • Eight additional Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs
  • Increased chance to get Rare Candy XL from Raid Battles
  • 50% more XP from Raid Battles
  • 2× Stardust from Raid Battles
