Niantic is combining Valentine’s Day and Carnival into one event for Pokémon GO in 2024. This three-day event will be packed with pink and heart-themed Pokémon and will have an Elite Raid Day (of sorts) on Valentine’s Day itself. Now, check out what’s happening during the Carnival of Love event with our guide below:

 

Pokémon GO’s Season of Timeless Travels – Carnival of Love

Begins: Tuesday, February 13th, 2024 at 10 a.m. your local time.

Ends: Thursday, February 15th, 2024 at 8 p.m. your local time.

 

Pokémon debuts – Shiny Oricorio and Enamorus (Incarnate Forme)

 

 

For the Carnival of Love event, Shiny Oricorio (Baile Style), Shiny Oricorio (Pa’u Style), Shiny Oricorio (Pom-Pom Style) and Shiny Oricorio (Sensu Style) will debut. Also, Enamorus (Incarnate Forme) will debut during the event, but only during Elite Raids on Wednesday, February 14th, 2024 at select times.

 

Event Bonuses

  • Increased chance of receiving Candy XL when walking with your buddy
  • Two guaranteed Candy XL for evolving Pokémon

 

Additional Bonus for Trainers playing in Brazil:

  • 2× XP for catching Pokémon

If any special event boxes or bundles are released during the event, they’ll be listed here once the event is live.

 

Wild Encounters

  • The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild: Snubbull*, Skitty*, Luvdisc*, Flabébé (Red Flower), Flabébé (Blue Flower), Flabébé (Yellow Flower), Furfrou*, Oricorio (Baile Style)*, Oricorio (Pom-Pom Style)*, Oricorio (Pa’u Style)*, Oricorio (Sensu Style)*, Stufful*, and Quaxly.
    • If you’re lucky, you might encounter the following Pokémon: Roselia*, Flabébé (White Flower), and Flabébé (Orange Flower).

  • Oricorio styles are region exclusives:
    • Oricorio (Baile Style) is only available in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
    • Oricorio (Pom-Pom Style) is only available in the Americas.
    • Oricorio (Pa’u Style) is only available in African, Asian, Pacific, and Caribbean islands.
    • Oricorio (Sensu Style) is only available in the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Flabébé variants (flower colors) will only appear in specific regions:
    • Flabébé (Red Flower) is only available in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
    • Flabébé (Blue Flower) is only available in the Asia-Pacific region.
    • Flabébé (Yellow Flower) is only available in the Americas.
    • Flabébé (White Flower) is available around the world and isn’t region-locked.
    • Flabébé (Orange Flower) is available around the world and isn’t region-locked.

 

Raids

Standard and Shadow Raids will be active during the event.

 

Standard Raids

The following Pokémon will be appearing in Raids:

  • One-Star Raids: Jigglypuff*, Murkrow*, Galarian Zigzagoon*, Snorunt*, and Klink*.
  • Three-Star Raids: Pinsir*, Granbull, Mightyena, and Crustle.
  • Five-Star Raids: None.
  • Mega Raids:
    • Mega Latias* and Mega Latios* (See Additional Notes).
    • Mega Absol* (See Additional Notes).
  • Elite Raids: Enamorus (Incarnate Forme) (See Additional Notes).

 

Shadow Raids

The following Pokémon will be appearing in Shadow Raids:

  • One-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Alolan Sandshrew, Shadow Murkrow, Shadow Pineco, and Shadow Croagunk.
  • Three-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Scyther, Shadow Skarmory, and Shadow Golett.
  • Five-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Articuno* (See Additional Notes).

  • Mega Raids:
    • Mega Latias* and Mega Latios* will be available (in Mega Raids), until Thursday, February 15th, 2024 at 10 a.m. your local time.
    • Mega Absol* will debut in Mega Raids on Thursday, February 15th, 2024 at 10 a.m. your local time and will be available after the event until Thursday, February 22nd, 2024 at 10 a.m. your local time.
  • Elite Raids:
    • Information about Enamorus (Incarnate Forme) Elite Raids can be found in the Elite Raid Day guide.
  • Shadow Raids:
    • One- and Three-Star Shadow Raids will be available daily.
    • Five-Star Shadow Raids will be available on weekends (Saturday and Sunday), unless otherwise stated by Niantic.

 

Furfrou Heart Trim returns

Furfrou’s Heart Trim style will be made available during the Carnival of Love event. Trainers who wish to transform their Furfrou into this style can do so by:

  • Find Furfrou in your Pokémon Storage, tap it to check its summary, and then tap the Change Form button to bring up a menu that lists the available trims.
  • Select your preferred trim.
  • Changing your Furfrou from one trim to any other trim will cost 25 Furfrou Candy and 10,000 Stardust.

 

Field Research Tasks

There will be event-exclusive Field Research Tasks available and the rewards include the following Pokémon encounters: Snubbull*, Roselia*, Spinda (Heart Pattern)*, Clamperl*, Luvdisc*, Furfrou*, and Stufful*. These Field Research Tasks can be found when spinning PokéStops (and acquired if you have an open slot in your Field Research menu) when the event is active.

  • Task: Catch 5 Pokémon
    • Reward: Snubbull* OR Stufful* Encounter
  • Task: Catch 10 Pokémon
    • Reward: Luvdisc* Encounter OR Furfou* Encounter OR 1 Sinnoh Stone
  • Task: Make 5 Great Curveball Throws in a row
    • Reward: Spinda (Heart Pattern)* Encounter
  • Task: Trade a Pokémon
    • Reward: Clamperl* Encounter
  • Task: Earn a Candy walking with your Buddy
    • Reward: Roselia* Encounter
  • Task: Spin 5 PokéStops or Gyms
    • Reward: 5 Poké Balls OR 2 Super Potions OR 200 Stardust

PokéStop Showcase

During the event, PokéStop Showcases will be active. The theme of these contests is to submit the biggest Pokémon that’s being asked for:

  • Tuesday, February 13th, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. your local time: Luvdisc and Oricorio (all Styles)
  • Wednesday, February 14th, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. your local time: Pokémon that are a Great Buddy or higher
  • Thursday, February 15th, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. your local time: Luvdisc and Oricorio (all Styles)

 

Collection Challenge – Carnival of Love Collection Challenge

A special, event-exclusive Collection Challenge will be available. According to Niantic, this Collection Challenge will reward Trainers with XP, Stardust, an encounter with Roserade, and an addition to the Elite Collector medal. A complete list of what Pokémon must be caught/traded/evolved and the associated rewards will be added here once the event is live.

  • Catch: Quaxly, Snubbull, Skitty, Stufful, Luvdisc, and Furfrou.
  • Evolve: Quaxly into Quaxwell, Quaxwell into Quaquaval, Snubbull into Granbull, and Skitty into Delacatty.
    • Completion Rewards: 5,000 XP, 2,500 Stardust, and Roserade Encounter.

 

Avatar Items

A new avatar pose themed after Luvdisc will be released during this event. It will be available for purchase (with PokéCoins) via the in-game shop. The avatar pose will still be available to purchase after the conclusion of this event.

The new avatar item is: Luvdisc Tambourine Pose (500 PokéCoins).

Also, the following Luvdis-themed Avatar Items will be promoted (and they were released during a previous event): Luvdisc Top (2oo PokéCoins), Ripped Luvdisc Jeans (150 PokéCoins), and Luvdisc Shoes (50 PokéCoins).

 

 

Paid Ticket – Carnival of Love Timed Research

 

During the Carnival of Love event, Trainers can purchase a ticket to access an event-themed Timed Research. For US$0.99 OR US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll get the Carnival of Love Timed Research which rewards Trainers with the following items (if tasks are completed within the time limit): Spinda (Heart Pattern)* encounters, XP, Stardust, and Incense.

According to Niantic, “[t]ickets are nonrefundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service).” Tickets can also be gifted to Trainers you’re friends with provided that you have a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with them. This can be done via the in-game shop and by selecting the “Gift” button instead of the “Buy” button. Tickets purchased for friends are nonrefundable as well.

Please keep in mind that Timed Research quests have deadlines. Trainers must complete this Carnival of Love Timed Research by Thursday, February 15th, 2024 at 8 p.m. your local time.

 

  • Task: Make a Great Curveball Throw
    • Reward: Spinda (Heart Pattern)* Encounter
  • Task: Make 2 Great Curveball Throws in a row
    • Reward: Spinda (Heart Pattern)* Encounter
  • Task: Make 3 Great Curveball Throws in a row
    • Reward: Spinda (Heart Pattern)* Encounter
  • Task: Make 4 Great Curveball Throws in a row
    • Reward: Spinda (Heart Pattern)* Encounter
  • Task: Make 5 Great Curveball Throws in a row
    • Reward: Spinda (Heart Pattern)* Encounter
  • Completion Rewards: 2 Incense, 5,000 XP, and 2,500 Stardust
