The Season of World of Wonders’ Research Day is finally here in Pokémon GO. This quarter’s event is themed after Flying-type Pokémon – specifically Spearow, Doduo, Hoothoot, Taillow, and Rufflet. Trainers will have to spin PokéStops during the event hours for event-exclusive Field Research tasks featuring these Pokémon. There will also be wild spawns of other Flying-type Pokémon, PokéStop Showcases, and a paid Timed Research ticket. Pokémon GO’s Season of World of Wonder – Flock Together Research Day

Begins: Saturday, May 11th, 2024 at 2 p.m. your local time.

Ends: Saturday, May 11th, 2024 at 5 p.m. your local time.

 

Pokémon featured – Spearow, Doduo, Hoothoot, Taillow, and Rufflet

 

 

Spearow, Doduo, Hoothoot, Taillow, and Rufflet will be featured as reward catch encounters in Field Research obtained during the event. Shiny rates for these Pokémon will be increased during the event (it’s unclear if the shiny rate boost applies to the encounters in the paid Timed Research).

 

Event Bonuses

  • Event-themed Field Research tasks
  • Increased chance of encountering Shiny Spearow, Shiny Doduo, Shiny Hoothoot, Shiny Taillow, and Shiny Rufflet from Field Research tasks

 

Event Boxes

If any special event boxes or bundles are released during the event, they’ll be listed here once the event is live.

 

Wild Encounters

  • The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild: Pidgey*, Murkrow*, Wingull*, Starly*, Pidove*, and Fletchling*.

Raids

Standard and Shadow Raids will be active during the event, but will not be the focus of the event. Raid lineups for One- and Three-Star Raids will be updated soon.

 

Standard Raids

The following Pokémon will be appearing in Raids:

  • One-Star Raids: Nidoran ♂*, Marill*, Clamperl*, Stunky*, and Goomy*.
  • Three-Star Raids: Vileplume*, Togetic*, Wobbuffet, and Palpitoad.
  • Five-Star Raids: Tapu Fini* (See Additional Notes).
  • Mega Raids: Mega Alakazam* (See Additional Notes).

 

Shadow Raids

The following Pokémon will be appearing in Shadow Raids:

  • One-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Drowzee*, Shadow Poliwag*, Shadow Barboach, and Shadow Foongus.
  • Three-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Hitmontop, Shadow Wobbuffet, and Shadow Sneasel*.
  • Five-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Suicune* (See Additional Notes).

  • Pokémon marked with an * means that “If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one!”
  • Standard Raids:
    • Tapu Fini* will be available after the event (in Five-Star Raids), until Thursday, May 16th, 2024 at 10 a.m. your local time.
    • Mega Alakazam* will be available after the event (in Mega Raids), until Thursday, May 16th, 2024 at 10 a.m. your local time.
  • Shadow Raids:
    • One- and Three-Star Shadow Raids will be available daily.
    • Five-Star Shadow Raids will be available on weekends (Saturday and Sunday), unless otherwise stated by Niantic.

 

Featured Attack for Tapu Fini

Tapu Fini will know the attack Nature’s Madness (Charged Attack) when caught from Five-Star Raids between Thursday, May 2nd, 2024, at 10 a.m. to Thursday, May 16th, 2024, at 10 a.m. your local time. You can also teach Tapu Fini this move with the aid of an Elite Charged TM.

Nature’s Madness’s (Charged Attack) stats are as follows:

  • Trainer Battles:  80 power +  decrease your opponent’s Defense stat
  • Gyms and Raids:  90 power

 

Field Research Tasks

There will be event-exclusive Field Research Tasks available and the rewards include the following Pokémon encounters: Spearow*, Doduo*, Hoothoot*, Taillow*, and Rufflet*. These Field Research Tasks can be found when spinning PokéStops (and acquired if you have an open slot in your Field Research menu) when the event is active.

PokéStop Showcase

During the event, PokéStop Showcases will be active. The theme of these contests is to submit the biggest event-themed Pokémon being asked for.

  • Saturday, May 11th, 2024 at 10 a.m. to Sunday, May 12th, 2024 at 8 p.m. your local time: All Flying-type Pokémon

 

Timed Research – Flock Together Research Day: Timed Research (Paid)

During the Flock Together event, Trainers can purchase a ticket to access an event-themed Timed Research. For US$0.99 OR US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll get the Flock Together Timed Research which rewards Trainers with the following Pokémon encounters (if tasks are completed within the time limit): Spearow*, Doduo*, Hoothoot*, Taillow*, and Rufflet*. (Note: Niantic mentions that Trainers will get to “encounter more of the featured Pokémon of your choice.” This Pokémon will be selected after completing the first step of the Timed Research.)

According to Niantic, “[t]ickets are nonrefundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service).” Tickets can also be gifted to Trainers you’re friends with provided that you have a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with them. This can be done via the in-game shop and by selecting the “Gift” button instead of the “Buy” button. Tickets purchased for friends are nonrefundable as well.

Please keep in mind that Timed Research quests have deadlines. Trainers must complete this Flock Together Timed Research and claim all rewards before Saturday, May 11th, 2024 at 5 p.m. your local time.
