Trainers who have missed out on acquiring Shadow Mewtwo (and Shiny Shadow Mewtwo) have another chance! This weekend, Shadow Mewtwo is back and can be found in Five-Star Shadow Raids. (For more details about the Season of World of Wonder, you can check out our overall Season of World of Wonder guide hub.)

Now, check out what’s happening during the Shadow Mewtwo Returns! event with our guide below:

Pokémon GO’s Season of World of Wonder – Shadow Mewtwo Returns!

Active Five-Star Shadow Raid times:

  • Day 1: Saturday, March 30th, 2024 from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. your local time.
  • Day 2: Sunday, March 31st, 2024 from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. your local time.

Pokémon featured – Shadow Mewtwo

Shadow Mewtwo Returns! For one weekend only though. Trainers will only be able to find Shadow Mewtwo in Five-Star Shadow Raids. (And if you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny Shadow Mewtwo during the catch reward encounter.) In order to participate in these Raids, Trainers will need either a daily free Raid Pass OR a Premium Battle Pass (Remote Raid Passes cannot be used for Shadow Raids).

It is also recommended to have Purified Gems when participating in a Shadow Raid. During a Shadow Raid, the Shadow Pokémon being challenged may enter an enraged state (which increases the difficulty of the Shadow Raid). When this happens, all participating Trainers can use a Purified Gem to calm the Pokémon. A single Trainer can use up to 5 Purified Gems during a Shadow Raid and Trainers can hold up to 10 Purified Gems at one time.

To acquire Purified Gems, Trainers will need to collect Shadow Shards by successfully battling Team GO Rocket members. It takes four Shadow Shards to make 1 Purified Gem.

To get 10 free Purified Gems, input the following code on the Pokémon GO Offer Redemption page: 7B3ELFUMKLP4G
