This weekend’s event in Pokémon GO is a short little three-hour Limited Research Day event. As for which Pokémon will be featured as the reward catch encounter, it’s a twofer – Stunfisk and Galarian Stunfisk. Not only that, but a variety of Ground- and Rock-type Pokémon will also be available in the wild.

Now, check out what’s happening during the Stunfisk Limited Research Day event with our guide below:

Pokémon GO’s Season of Rising Heroes – Stunfisk Limited Research Day

Begins: Sunday, April 23rd, 2023 at 2 p.m. your local time.

Ends: Sunday, April 23rd, 2023 at 5 p.m. your local time.

Pokémon featured – Stunfisk and Galarian Stunfisk + Shiny debut

Just as the name suggests, this Limited Research Day will feature Stunfisk* and Galarian Stunfisk*. They’ll be available as catch encounter rewards in special Limited Field Research tasks that are obtained during the event. Plus, this short three-hour event will also have Shiny Stunfisk available for the first time in Pokémon GO!

Note: Pokémon marked with an * means that “If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one!”

Event Bonuses

  • You’ll have an increased chance of encountering Shiny Stunfisk and Shiny Galarian Stunfisk.

This event overlaps with the Sustainability Week event, so the following bonuses will also be active:

  • If your Buddy Pokémon is a Great Buddy or higher, it will bring you leaf-wrapped gifts more frequently. These gifts will contain Berries more often, and they may even contain a Silver Pinap Berry!
  • If your Buddy Pokémon is an Ultra Buddy or higher, it will bring you souvenirs more frequently.
  • Your Buddy Pokémon will accompany you on the map longer after being fed.
  • 1/2 distance to earn hearts with your Buddy Pokémon.

Event Boxes

If any special event boxes or bundles are released during the event, they’ll be listed here once the event is live.

Wild Encounters

  • The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild: Sandshrew*, Diglett*, Gligar*, Swinub*, Phanpy*, Larvitar*, Numel*, Barboach*, Baltoy*, Hippopotas*, and Drilbur*.

Note: Pokémon marked with an * means that “If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one!”
