For Trainers in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s finally spring! Cherry blossom trees are in bloom (along with plenty of flowers and greenery), a variety of spring-focused holidays are taking place, and more. In Pokémon GO, that means a floral accented event is taking place, along with some bunny-themed Pokémon due to Easter.

Similar to previous spring-time events, a variety of Pokémon wearing flowers (as crowns or accessories) will be available to catch. This includes some previous Costumed Pokémon (and it’s a great time to get a Flower Crown Togepi or Togetic before their Community Day event later this month (thus having a Flower Crown Togekiss that knows Aura Sphere).

Here are all the details for this year’s Spring into Spring event:

 

Pokémon GO’s Season of Rising Heroes – Spring into Spring

Begins: Tuesday, April 4th, 2023 at 10 a.m. your local time.

Ends: Monday, April 10th, 2023 at 8 p.m. your local time.

 

Pokémon debuts – Cutiefly, Ribombee, and Costumed Pokémon

 

 

For this year’s Spring-themed event, Cutiefly (and its evolved form Ribombee) will debut in Pokémon GO. Not only that, but a plethora of Costumed Pokémon – both new and old – will be available.

  • Cutiefly: Available in the Wild, via Eggs, and in One-Star Raids. Gather 50 Cutiefly Candies and you’ll be able to evolve Cutiefly into Ribombee.
  • New Costumed Pokémon (adorned Cherry Blossoms): Pichu*, Pikachu*, Raichu*, Eevee*, Vaporeon*, Jolteon*, Flareon*, Espeon*, Umbreon*, Leafeon*, Glaceon*, and Sylveon*.
    • Note: Only Pichu, Pikachu, and Eevee can be obtained via in Eggs OR in the Wild OR in Raids during the event. Their evolved costumed forms can be obtained by evolving a Costumed version of the Pokémon with the necessary Pokémon Candies and other requirements (time of day, lured PokéStops, etc.).
  • Returning Costumed Pokémon (wearing a Flower Crown): Happiny*, Chansey*, Togepi*, Togetic*, and Bunneary*.

Going forward, these Pokémon will be referred to as “Costumed” rather than the exact outfit they are wearing.

 

Event Bonuses

  • 2× Hatch Candy
  • 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in an Incubator during the event period
  • Lucky Eggs activated during the event period will last for one hour

 

Event Boxes

If any special event boxes or bundles are released during the event, they’ll be listed here once the event is live.

 

Wild Encounters

  • The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild: Costumed Pikachu*, Jigglypuff*, Costumed Eevee*, Marill*, Whismur*, Costumed Buneary*, Bunnelby*, and Cutiefly.
    • If you’re lucky, you might encounter the following Pokémon: Costumed Chansey* and Costumed Togetic*.

Eggs

The following Pokémon will be hatching from Eggs that are obtained during the event:

  • 2 km Eggs
    • 1-Egg Rarity: Costumed Eevee*, Azurill*, Munchlax*, and Cutiefly.
    • 2-Egg Rarity: Costumed Pichu*, Costumed Togepi*, and Costumed Happiny*.
    • 3-Egg Rarity: Riolu*.

Raids

The following Pokémon will be appearing in Raids:

  • One-Star Raids: Costumed Pikachu*, Jigglypuff*, Costumed Eevee*, and Cutiefly.
  • Three-Star Raids: Exeggutor, Alolan Exeggutor*, Costumed Chansey*, and Costumed Togetic*.
  • Five-Star Raids: Lugia* (See Additional Notes).
  • Mega Raids: Mega Lopunny* (See Additional Notes).

  • Lugia* will be available after the event (in Raids), until Tuesday, April 11th, 2023 at 10 a.m. your local time.
  • Mega Lopunny* will be available after the event (in Raids), until Tuesday, April 11th, 2023 at 10 a.m. your local time.

 

Field Research Tasks

There will be event-exclusive Field Research Tasks available and the rewards include the following Pokémon encounters: Costumed Pikachu*, Costumed Chansey*, Costumed Eevee*, and Costumed Togetic*. These Field Research Tasks can be found when spinning PokéStops (and acquired if you have an open slot in your Field Research menu) when the event is active.

A complete list of tasks and rewards will be shared here once the event is live.

 

  • Task: Hatch an Egg
    • Reward: Costumed Pikachu* OR Costumed Eevee* Encounter
  • Task: Hatch 2 Eggs
    • Reward: Costumed Togetic* Encounter
  • Task: Hatch 4 Eggs
    • Reward: Costumed Chansey* Encounter

Collection Challenge – Spring into Spring

A special, event-exclusive Collection Challenge will be available. According to Niantic, this Collection Challenge will reward Trainers with XP, Stardust, a Lucky Egg, and an addition to the Elite Collector medal. A complete list of what Pokémon must be caught/traded/evolved and the associated rewards will be added here once the event is live.

  • Catch: Whismur, Bunnelby, Costumed Buneary, Marill, Costumed Eevee, Costumed Pikachu, and Cutiefly.
  • Evolve: Cutiefly into Ribombee, Bunnelby into Diggersby, and Buneary into Lopunny (Costumed version not specified).
    • Rewards: 10,000 XP, 5,000 Stardust, 1 Lucky Egg, and an addition to the Elite Collector medal

 

Avatar Items

A new avatar item themed after Happiny will be released during this event. It will be available for purchase (with PokéCoins) via the in-game shop. This avatar item will still be available to purchase after the conclusion of this event.

The new avatar items are the following: Happiny Hoodie.
