This year’s Festival of Lights event returns in Pokémon GO, but the event will be limited to India only. Still, Trainers from around the world can participate via Remote Raids, as the event’s Costumed Pikachu will be available in One-Star Raids. Pokémon GO’s Season of Max Out – Festival of Lights
Begins: Friday, November 1st, 2024 at 10 a.m. your local time.
Ends: Monday, November 4th, 2024 at 8 p.m. your local time.
Pokémon debuts – Pikachu wearing a saree
For this year’s Festival of Lights event, Pikachu is dressing up for the occasion. Wearing a saree (also spelled as sari), this Pikachu is limited to India. Yet, this Pikachu will be available globally, technically, via Remote Raids.
Note: Going forward, this Pikachu will be referred to as “Costumed Pikachu” rather than the exact outfit they are wearing.
Event Bonuses
- 2× Stardust for catching Pokémon.
- 2× XP for catching Pokémon.
- Team GO Rocket balloons appear every 2 hours.
- Team GO Rocket Grunts appear more frequently at PokéStops.
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.
Plus, Trainers in Bengaluru can attend a special celebration on Sunday, November 3rd, 2024 at Phoenix Marketcity from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. your local time. This event will have “surprises and giveaways free for all Trainers” according to Niantic.
Also, this event overlaps with the worldwide Halloween 2024 Part II event and the Latin America-exclusive Día de Muertos 2024 event. More information about these events can be found in the Halloween 2024 Part II event guide and the Día de Muertos 2024 event guide.

If any special event boxes or bundles are released during the event, they’ll be listed here once the event is live. Daily bundles are also available and can be viewed online via the Pokémon GO Web Store.
Incense Encounters
- The following Pokémon will appear more frequently when Trainers use Incense (may exclude Daily Adventure Incense – Niantic has not clarified this): Alolan Geodude*, Hisuian Voltorb*, Slugma*, Vobeat*, Illumise*, Litwick*, Morelull*, and Tadbulb.

Standard and Shadow Raids will be active during the event.
Standard Raids
The following Pokémon will be appearing in Raids:
- One-Star Raids:
- India only: Costumed Pikachu* (saree/sari), Hisuian Voltorb*, Dedenne*, and Morelull*.
- Latin America only (Día de Muertos 2024 event): Costumed Cubone*, Paldean Wooper*, Costumed Duksull*, and Flabébé (Yellow)*.
- Worldwide (Halloween Part II event, until Sunday, November 3rd, 2024 at 8 p.m. your local time): Costumed Pikachu* (witch hat), Costumed Froakie*, and Costumed Rowlet*.
- Three-Star Raids:
- Costumed Gengar*, Umbreon*, and Costumed Drifblim* (until Sunday, November 3rd, 2024 at 8 p.m. your local time)

- Three-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Pinsir*, Shadow Sableye*, and Shadow Mawile*.
- Five-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Suicune* (See Additional Notes).

- Increased chance to encounter the following Shiny Pokémon in Raids: Gengar wearing a Spooky Festival costume, Umbreon, Drifblim wearing a Halloween Mischief costume, Froakie wearing a Pokémon Halloween costume, and Rowlet wearing a Pokémon Halloween costume.
- Standard Raids:
- Due to multiple events (and two being region locked) and Raid lineups changing with November, multiple Raid line ups will be active throughout the event.
- Shadow Raids:
- One- and Three-Star Shadow Raids will be available daily.
- Five-Star Shadow Raids will be available on weekends (Saturday and Sunday), unless otherwise stated by Niantic.
Max Battles

- One-Star Max Battles: Dynamax Bulbasaur*, Dynamax Charmander*, Dynamax Squirtle*, Grookey, Dynamax Scrobunny, and Dynamax Sobble.

Field Research Tasks
There will be event-exclusive Field Research Tasks available and the rewards include the following Pokémon encounters: Costumed Pikachu*, Morelull*, and Tadbulb. These Field Research Tasks can be found when spinning PokéStops (and acquired if you have an open slot in your Field Research menu) when the event is active.

During the event, PokéStop Showcases will be active. The theme of these contests is to submit the biggest Pokémon being requested. This section will be updated once the PokéStop Showcases are active.
