Pokémon GO’s Season of Light’s Fashion Week event guide

There currently aren’t any Ultra Beasts running wild in Pokémon GO, so it’s the perfect time to bring back a yearly fall event – the Fashion Week event!

Costumed Pokémon are back with hats, bows, collars, and sunglasses this year. Some previously Fashion Week Costumed Pokémon will be walking the runway again, alongside some new Costumed Pokémon (Diglett, Dugtrio, Absol, and Toxicroak) and Alola region’s Mareanie and Toxapex.

Pokémon GO’s Season of Light – Fashion Week

Begins: Tuesday, September 27th, 2022 at 10 a.m. your local time.

Ends: Monday, October 3rd, 2022 at 8 p.m. your local time.

 

Pokémon debuts – Costumed Pokémon, Mareanie, and Toxapex

 

 

Fashion Week is back! Previous Costumed Pokémon from previous Fashion Week events are returning: Butterfree, Croagunk, Blitzle, Kirlia, Shinx, and Smoochum. In the new additions department, Trainers can evolve Costumed Croagunk into Costumed Toxicroak for the first time! You’ll also find Costumed Diglett (which can be evolved into Costumed Dugtrio) and Costumed Absol in the wild, Raids, and via Timed Research encounters during this year’s event.

With all the Costumed Pokémon out and about strutting their stuff, you might’ve missed a brand new addition to Pokémon GO! Mareanie (and their evolved form Toxapex) are debuting in Pokémon GO thanks to this event.

• Pokémon marked with an * means that “If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one!”
• Niantic refers to Pokémon with Fashion Week costumes as “Pokémon wearing a fashionable costume”. For this guide, all Pokémon wearing a Fashion Week costume will be referred to as Costumed [name of the Pokémon].

 

Event Bonuses

• Take snapshots during the event–a fashionable Pokémon may make a surprise appearance! (Costumed Diglett* OR Furfrou* photobomb encounter. Can be repeated up to 5 times per day.)

 

Event Boxes

• Hatch Box (499 PokéCoins): 5 Egg Incubators.
• Raid Box (699 PokéCoins): 50 Ultra Balls, 2 Premium Battle Passes, 2 Poffins, and 1 Remote Raid Pass.
• Great Box (1,400 PokéCoins): 4 Super Incubators, 4 Egg Incubators, 3 Remote Raid Passes, and 10 Silver Pinap Berries.
• Ultra Box (3,300 PokéCoins): 5 Premium Battle Passes, 15 Super Incubators, 10 Egg Incubators, and 5 Poffins.

 

Wild Encounters

• The following Pokémon will be appearing in the wild: Costumed Butterfree*, Murkrow*, Glameow*, Costumed Croagunk*, Costumed Blitzle*, Gothita, Frillish (Female-only), Furfrou*, and Mareanie.
  • If you’re lucky, you might encounter the following Pokémon: Costumed Diglett*, Costumed Kirlia*, and Costumed Absol*.

Eggs

The following Pokémon will be hatching from Eggs obtained during the event:

• 7 km Eggs: 
  • 1-Egg Rarity: Costumed Diglett*, Costumed Smoochum*, Costumed Shinx*, and Costumed Croagunk*.

Raids

The following Pokémon will be appearing in Raids:

• Three-Star Raids: Costumed Butterfree*, Costumed Kirlia*, Costumed Absol*, and Mareanie.
• Five-Star Raids: Yveltal* (See Additional Notes).
• Mega Raids: Mega Lopunny* (See Additional Notes).

Field Research Tasks

New event-exclusive Field Research Tasks will be available and the rewards include encounters with Eevee*, Murkrow*, Skitty*, Glameow*, Costumed Crogunk*, Costumed Blitzle*, Furfrou*, and Mareanie. These Field Research Tasks can be found when spinning PokéStops (and acquired if you have an open slot in your Field Research menu) when the event is active. A full list of tasks and their associated rewards will be added here once the event is live.

Timed Research – Fashion Week

A special, event-exclusive Timed Research will be available. Its focus isn’t clear yet, though we know you’ll be rewarded with items and Pokémon encounters with Costumed Diglett*, Costumed Absol*, and Costumed Croagunk*. A full list of tasks and their rewards will be added here once the event is live.

 

Step 1

• Task: Use 3 Berries to help catch Pokémon
  • Reward: 1 Lure Module
• Task: Catch 5 Pokémon
  • Reward: 5 Poké Balls
• Task: Take 5 snapshots of Wild Pokémon
  • Reward: 5 Nanab Berries
• Completion Reward: An Opponent Appears! (Quirky Challenger battles you with a Matron Furfrou, Mareanie, and Costumed Diglett.)

 

Step 2

• Task: Battle a Fashion Challenger
  • Reward: 1,500 XP
• Completion Reward: Costumed Croagunk*

 

Step 3

• Task: Make 5 Great Curveball Throws
  • Reward: 10 Great Balls
• Task: Take a snapshot of Mareanie in the Wild
  • Reward: 1o Razz Berries
• Task: Catch a Furfrou
  • Reward: 25 Candies
• Completion Reward: An Opponent Appears! (Rugged Challenger battles you with a Diamond Trim Furfrou, Costumed Blitzle, Costumed Absol.)

 

Step 4

• Task: Battle a Fashion Challenger
  • Reward: 2,000 XP

• Task: Take 10 snapshots of Wild Pokémon
  • Reward: 2 Silver Pinap Berries
• Task: Use 10 Berries to help catch Pokémon
  • Reward: 10 Pinap Berries
• Task: Make 3 Excellent Curveball Throws
  • Reward: 25 Great Balls
• Task: Power up Pokémon 10 times
  • Reward: 20 Ultra Balls
• Task: Catch 15 Pokémon
  • Reward: 2 Golden Razz Berries
• Completion Reward: An Opponent Appears! (Cool Challenger battles you with a Star Trim Furfrou, Frillish (Female), and Costumed Croagunk.)

Avatar Items

A Mareanie-themed outfit for Trainers as well as a black and white outfit will be available for purchase (with PokéCoins) via the Avatar customization menu. These outfits will also be available after the Fashion Week event ends.
