A spin-off event of Pokémon GO Spotlight Hour is happening in 2022! Instead of spotlighting a Pokémon for one hour each week, Niantic is extending it to a weekend and focusing on an outdoor area to meet up and play. Dubbed the Weekend Park Spotlight, this weekend-long event will feature one Pokémon appearing more frequently in park areas.
We don’t know if Niantic will continue this “new” event going forward, or even change up its location focus in the future, but here’s what you can expect during its first run thanks to the Season of Alola’s Lush Jungle event.
When is Lush Jungle’s Weekend Park Spotlight happening and where?
The Weekend Park Spotlight is happening from Saturday, March 26th, 2022 at 10 a.m. to Sunday, March 27th, 2022 at 8 p.m. your local time. You also must physically be in a park area while playing the game.
What Pokémon is featured in the Weekend Park Spotlight?
The Pokémon featured for March 26th and 27th, 2022’s Weekend Park Spotlight is Cottonee.
Can Cottonee be shiny?
Yes, Cottonee can be shiny. In fact, its Shiny version debuted during the Lush Jungle event.
Are there any bonuses for this Weekend Park Spotlight?
No, Niantic isn’t activating any special bonuses during this weekend-long event (Saturday, March 26th, 2022 at 10 a.m. to Sunday, March 27th, 2022 at 8 p.m. your local time).
Will there be another Weekend Park Spotlight in Pokémon GO?
Niantic has yet to announce any future Weekend Park Spotlight events as of March 2022.
