The Valentine’s Day celebration continues in Pokémon GO with some sub-events. One will be focused on Limited Field Research Tasks, the other will reward Trainers in the GO Battle League, and both will be taking place during the weekend. We’re now onto Day 2, which means it’s time to battle it out in the GO Battle League. This time, Vulpix will be a guaranteed reward catch encounter in the GBL, but only for three hours.

Since this event is all about the GBL, you’ll still find that the Valentine’s Day Event and all its perks will be active. No changes there (compared to the Luvdisc Limited Research Day event).

Pokémon GO’s Season of Mythical Wishes – GO Battle Day: Vulpix

Begins: Sunday, February 12th, 2023 at 12 a.m. your local time.

Ends: Sunday, February 12th, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. your local time.

 

Vulpix Reward Catch Encounters

Begins: Sunday, February 12th, 2023 at 11 a.m. your local time.

Ends: Sunday, February 12th, 2023 at 2 p.m. your local time.

 

Pokémon featured – Vulpix

From Sunday, February 12th, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. your local time, Vulpix* will be the guaranteed reward catch encounter in Pokémon GO’s GO Battle League (GBL). Reward catch encounters are available as the 3rd out of 5 battle wins in the Basic Track, and all wins out of 5 battles on the Premium Track (which requires a Premium Battle Pass).

In addition to that, these Vulpix* encounters will have an increased chance of being a Shiny Vulpix*.

 

Note: Pokémon marked with an * means that “If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one!”

 

Event Bonuses

  • 4× Stardust from win rewards
  • The maximum number of sets you can play per day will be increased to 20, for a total of 100 battles.
  • Increased chance of encountering Shiny Vulpix from GBL Reward Catch Encounters.

 

The following bonuses from the Valentine’s Day Event will also be active:

  • 2× Stardust from opening Gifts
  • Lure Modules activated during the event will last for two (2) hours

 

If Trainers participate in Lovely Wishes Timed Research, they can pick one of the three event bonuses:

  • XP Bonus: 2× XP when catching Pokémon
  • Daily Adventure Incense Bonus: 2× Daily Adventure Incense duration (will be 30 minutes per day during the event)
  • Candy Bonus: 2× Candy when catching Pokémon

 

The Global Valentine’s Day Challenge was met, so the following bonuses will be activated:

  • 3× Transfer Candy for the remainder of the event
  • 2× Transfer Candy XL for Trainers level 31 and up for the remainder of the event

 

Event Boxes

If any special event boxes or bundles are released during the event, they’ll be listed here once the event is live.

 

Featured Attack for Ninetails

Ninetails will know the attack Ember (Fast Attack) during the event, but only through evolving a Vulpix into a Ninetails.

 

Timed Research – GO Battle Day: Vulpix

A Timed Research quest will be active during the event. It’ll focus on battling it out in the GBL. When completing this Timed Research, Trainers can earn the following rewards: XP, Rare Candy, Vulpix* encounter, and 1 Elite Charged TM.

  • Task: Battle in the GO Battle League 5 times
    • Reward: 7,500 XP
  • Task: Battle in the GO Battle League 10 times
    • Reward: 7,500 XP
  • Task: Use 10 Super Effective Charged Attacks
    • Reward: 7,500 XP
  • Task: Power up Pokémon 10 times
    • Reward: 7,500 XP
  • Completion Rewards: 3 Rare Candies, Vulpix* Encounter, and 1 Elite Charged TM

    • 2,500 CP at or below can enter

    • 1,500 CP at or below can enter
