Following in the footsteps of the Season of Light’s Psychic Spectacular event last month, Pokémon GO’s Evolving Stars event will be hosting a very special Raid Day event. This time, Trainers will be able to take on Mega Gyarados in Mega Raids (which is rather convenient as Mega Gyarados isn’t part of this event’s Mega Raid rotation)!

Along with trying to get more Gyarados Mega Energy from winning these Mega Raids (and Gyarados catch encounters with an increased shiny rate), Trainers can also get additional free, in-person daily Raid Passes. Get all the details for this special three-hour-long event happening this Saturday in Pokémon GO with our guide below:

Pokémon GO’s Season of Light – Mega Gyarados Raid Day

Begins: Saturday, October 8th, 2022 at 2 p.m. your local time.

Ends: Saturday, October 8th, 2022 at 5 p.m. your local time.

Featured Pokémon – Mega Gyarados

Mega Gyarados will be available in Mega Raids and apparently more frequently during this three-hour-long event! Not only that, but more free, in-person daily Raid Passes will be available too (up to five and you can get this by spinning Photo Discs at Gyms). After defeating Mega Gyarados, you’ll earn some Gyarados Mega Energy and enter a catch encounter with Gyarados*.

Note: Pokémon marked with an * means that “If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one!”

Event Bonuses

  • Mega Gyarados will appear more frequently in raids.
  • You can receive up to five additional Raid Passes by spinning Photo Discs at Gyms.
  • You’ll have an increased chance of encountering Shiny Gyarados (during the post-win catch encounter).
