Now that we’re closer to Halloween, it’s time for Niantic to kick off Part II of Pokémon GO’s Halloween event. The Halloween 2022 Event Part I summoned plenty of Ghost-type Pokémon, and while most of them are sticking around for Halloween 2022 Event Part II, Costumed Pokémon are also joining the party! Plus, some Costumed Pokémon from last year’s Halloween event are back and available to catch again.
Candy bonuses from Part I are still active, along with an increased Shiny rate for Noibat (hatching from Eggs). Plus, there’s still time to acquire and complete the Timed, Field, and Special Research tasks.
EDIT (Friday, October 28th, 2022): Niantic originally planned for a surprise release of Zorua (and Zoroark via evolution) on Tuesday, October 25th, 2022’s Pokémon GO Spotlight Hour featuring Shuppet. Due to errors with Zorua, the release was delayed. On Friday, October 28th, 2022 at 1:06 p.m. PT, Niantic announced via the official Niantic Support Twitter account that the issues have been resolved and that Zorua will begin to appear in the wild globally. This and some other info about the Halloween 2022 Event Part II was shared on the official Pokémon GO blog.
Get all the details here with our Halloween 2022 Event Part II event guide:
Pokémon GO’s Season of Light – Halloween 2022 Event Part II
Begins: Thursday, October 27th, 2022 at 10 a.m. your local time.
Ends: Tuesday, November 1st, 2022 at 10 a.m. your local time.
Pokémon debuts – Halloween 2022 Costumed Vulpix, Ninetails, Gengar, Pumpkaboo, and Gourgeist + Zorua and Zoroark
The Pokémon dressing up for this year’s Halloween event are Vulpix, Ninetails, Gengar, Pumpkaboo, and Gourgeist! These are some of the Pokémon that star in this year’s Halloween collection for Pokémon Center (dubbed the Harvest Festival collection in Japan). Niantic refers to this year’s outfits as “Spooky Festival costumes”, yet for this guide, we’ll use “Costumed” when referring to these Pokémon (i.e.: Costumed Vulpix).
Niantic states on their blog post that Costumed Ninetails and Costumed Gourgeist aren’t Shiny. This might be made in error. The only way to acquire them is via evolving Costumed versions of their base evolution (Vulpix and Pumpkaboo). We’ll know for sure once the event is live (as Costumed Pokémon are limited to no evolution if certain parameters are met, like Costumed Pikachu and Raichu not having that outfit).
As for Zorua and Zoroark, the were released globally Friday, October 28th, 2022 around 1 p.m. PT. Zorua functions like Ditto, where it will disguise itself as other Pokémon. Get an “Oh?” interaction after the catch, and you’ll be treated to a transformation scene where Zorua will reveal itself (or you somehow found a Ditto instead). Zorua is available in the wild as well as via Incense and Daily Adventure Incense. To get a Zoroark, you’ll have to evolve a Zorua with 50 Zorua Candies.

- 2× Candy for hatching Pokémon
- 2× Candy for transferring Pokémon
