Love is officially in the air, and by that I mean our love for Pokémon. With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, so too is Niantic’s V-Day Pokémon GO event — and this year, they’ve got a special treat for us. For all the details on this years flowery February event, check out our guide below.

Pokémon GO’s Valentine’s Day Event

Begins: Thursday, February 10th, 2022 at 10 a.m. your local time.

Ends: Monday, February 14th, 2022 at 8 p.m. your local time.

Event Bonuses

During the duration of the event, players will receive 2x Catch Candy, 2x Lure Module duration, and find that their Buddy Pokémon will bring them items more often.

Global Challenge

From Wednesday, February 9th, 2022 at 12 p.m. PT (GMT -8), to Tuesday, February 15th, at 12 a.m. PT (GMT -8), players will be able to work together across the world to send Gifts to as many friends as possible! By sending enough Gifts worldwide (70,000,000 to be exact!), players will unlock 3x Transfer Candy for all Trainers for the remainder of the event.

Timed Research

Two Valentine’s Day-themed Collection Challenges will take place during the event. Completing them both will land you both a male and female Frillish!

Pokémon Debuts

All the way from the Kalos region and Generation VI, the Pokémon Flabébé, Floette, and Florges will be making their way into Pokémon GO — and they come in five different beautiful colors! However, completionists beware: each of the Red Flower, Blue Flower, and Yellow Flower Flabébé lines are only available in specific regions throughout the world.

Red Flower Flabébé: Appearing in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa
Blue Flower Flabébé: Appearing in the Asia-Pacific Region
Yellow Flower Flabébé: Appearing in the Americas

Additionally, Furfrou is getting a new form! Unlike other Pokémon forms, Furfrou is able to change forms at will. During the duration of the Valentine’s Day event, you’ll be able to change Natural Form Furfrou into Heart Trim Furfrou! Here’s how:

(Furfrou begins in its Natural Form.)

  • Select Furfrou in your Pokémon storage, and then tap the Change Form button to bring up a menu that lists the available Trims.
  • Select your preferred Trim.
  • Changing your Furfrou from one Trim to any other Trim will cost 25 Furfrou Candy and 10,000 Stardust.

Special Attacks

During the event, evolve Kirlia into Gardevoir or Gallade and find that they’ll know the special Charged Attack Synchronoise!

Gardevoir and Gallade encountered via Raids will also know the move.
