The big, one-day event catch-a-thon Pokémon GO Tour: Johto event is almost here! To prepare, Niantic is hosting a Poké Ball-themed “prep rally” so that Trainers can fill their Item Bag with enough Poké Balls for the big day. That’s not all, as some spherical Pokémon are getting in on the fun. Catch some Voltorb — both its Kanto and Hisuian versions — and even evolve a Hisuian Voltorb into a Hisuian Electrode for the first time!

Pokémon GO’s Season of Heritage – GO Tour Poké Ball Prep Rally

Pokémon Debuts

Hot on the heels of Hisuian Voltorb, you’ll now be able to evolve the Poké Ball-like Pokémon from the past into Hisuian Electrode! Make sure you have a Hisuian Voltorb and 50 Voltorb Candies to evolve one of your own!

 

Wild Encounters

  • The following Pokémon will be appearing more frequently in the wild: Voltorb*, Hisuian Voltorb, Koffing*, Marill*, Wailmer*, Solosis, and Foongus.
    • If you’re lucky, you might encounter the following: Jigglypuff*, Electrode, Amoonguss, and Galarian Stunfisk*.

 

Note: Pokémon marked with an * means that “If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one!”

 

Field Research Tasks

New event-exclusive Field Research Tasks will be available and they’ll reward you with Poké Balls, Great Balls, and Ultra Balls. These Field Research Tasks can be found when spinning PokéStops (and acquired if you have an open slot in your Field Research menu) when the event is active.

 

  • Task: Catch 2 Voltorb
    • Reward: 3 Poké Balls
  • Task: Make 5 Nice Throws
    • Reward: 10 Poké Balls
  • Task: Make 3 Great Throws
    • Reward: 5 Great Balls
  • Task: Make an Excellent Throw
    • Reward: 3 Ultra Balls
  • Task: Make 3 Nice Curveball Throws in a row
    • Reward: 3 Pinap Berries
  • Task: Make 4 Great Curveball Throws in a row
    • Reward: 1 Silver Pinap Berry
