With almost a month left in the Season of Memories in Motion, Team GO Rocket needs to use up their “crash a Pokémon GO event” ticket. So, this season’s Steeled Resolve event is getting the shake up, with Team GO Rocket doing the usual – changing up Shadow Pokémon rotations, adding some new Shadow Pokémon to the mix, and even a new shiny debut (that isn’t a Shadow Pokémon).
Now, check out what’s happening during the Steeled Resolve: Taken Over event with our guide below:
Pokémon GO’s Season of Memories in Motion – Steeled Resolve: Taken Over
Begins: Thursday, April 30th, 2026 at 12 a.m. your local time.
Ends: Monday, May 4th, 2026 at 8 p.m. your local time.
Pokémon debuts – New Shadow Pokémon and Shiny Varoom debut
A whole slew of Shadow Pokémon will be entering the Team GO Rocket Grunt encounter pool. Shadow Helioptile, Shadow Dewpider, Shadow Morelull, and Shadow Stufful debut. And, if you’re lucky, you may encounter shiny Shadow version of each! Along with their Shadow versions debuting, you can also evolve them too. That means that Shadow Heliolisk, Shadow Araquanid, Shadow Shiinotic, and Shadow Bewear are also available, provided you meet the evolution requirement for each Pokémon (Pokémon Candies and any additional items and/or conditions).
And, of course, Team GO Rocket Boss Giovanni is sporting a new Shadow Pokémon – Shadow Landorus (Incarnate Forme). You can only catch Shadow Landorus (Incarnate Forme) by tracking down Team GO Rocket Boss Giovanni with a Super Rocket Radar (via PokéStops or Team GO Rocket Balloons).
Lastly, the 12 km Eggs that are exclusive to Team GO Rocket are getting a slight change. Varoom has a chance of being shiny now! Which means Shiny Varoom and Shiny Revavroom are now possible in Pokémon GO!
