A short event dedicated to Magnemite, Plusle, and Minun will increase their shiny rates and feature them in daily Timed Research quests. (For more details about the Season of Max Out, you can check out our Season of Max Out guide hub.)

Pokémon GO’s Season of Max Out – Magnetic Study

Begins: Tuesday, October 15th, 2024 at 12 a.m. your local time.

Ends: Thursday, October 16th, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. your local time.

 

Pokémon featured – Magnemite, Plusle, and Minun

 

 

Three Pokémon will be featured during the Magnetic Study event: Magnemite, Plusle, and Minun. All three will be featured in Timed Research and Field Research. Plus, shiny rates for all three will be boosted.

 

Event Bonuses

  • Increased chance to encounter Shiny Magnemite, Shiny Plusle, and Shiny Minun.
  • Magnetic Lure Modules are more likely to attract event-themed Pokémon.

 

There will also be an additional bonus during each day of the event:

  • Tuesday, October 15th, 2024 from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. your local time
    • 2× XP for catching Pokémon
  • Wednesday, October 16th, 2024 from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. your local time
    • 50% more XP from Raid Battles
  • Thursday, October 17th, 2024 from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. your local time
    • 2× Stardust for catching Pokémon

 

Event Boxes

If any special event boxes or bundles are released during the event, they’ll be listed here once the event is live. Daily bundles are also available and can be viewed online via the Pokémon GO Web Store.

 

Raids

Standard and Shadow Raids will be active during the event. No themed Raids were announced for this event.

 

Standard Raids

The following Pokémon will be appearing in Raids:

  • One-Star Raids: Alolan Diglett*, Hisuian Voltorb*, Skorupi*, Mienfoo*, and Rockruff* (may change on Monday, October 14th, 2024 at 10 a.m. your local time)
  • Three-Star Raids: Lapras*, Snorlax*, Druddigon*, and Hisuian Decidueye* (may change on Monday, October 14th, 2024 at 10 a.m. your local time)
  • Five-Star Raids: Giratina (Origin Forme)* (See Additional Notes).
  • Mega Raids: Mega Sableye* (See Additional Notes).

 

Shadow Raids

The following Pokémon will be appearing in Shadow Raids:

  • One-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Machop*, Shadow Grimer*, Shadow Exeggcute*, and Shadow Sudowoodo.
  • Three-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Pinsir*, Shadow Sableye*, and Shadow Mawile*.
  • Five-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Entei* (See Additional Notes).

  • Pokémon marked with an * means that “If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one!”
  • Standard Raids:
    • Giratina (Origin Forme)* will be available after the event (in Five-Star Raids), until Monday, October 28th, 2024 at 10 a.m. your local time.
    • Mega Sableye* will be available after the event (in Mega Raids), until Monday, October 28th, 2024 at 10 a.m. your local time.
  • Shadow Raids:
    • One- and Three-Star Shadow Raids will be available daily.
    • Five-Star Shadow Raids will be available on weekends (Saturday and Sunday), unless otherwise stated by Niantic.

 

Max Battles

  • One-Star Max Battles: Dynamax Grookey, Dynamax Scrobunny, and Dynamax Sobble.

  • Max Battles require Max Particles (MP):
    • One-Star Max Battles cost 250 MP.
    • Three-Star Max Battles cost 400 MP.
  • Dynamax Grookey, Dynamax Scrobunny, and Dynamax Sobble will be available in One-Star Max Battles after this event until Thursday, October 31st, 2024 at 9 p.m. your local time.
  • Dynamax Falinks* will be available in Three-Star Max Battles after this event until Thursday, October 31st, 2024 at 9 p.m. your local time.

 

Daily Timed Research

Timed Research quests will be active during the event. Each day there will be a new Timed Research (and each Timed Research has its own special rewards).

  • Tuesday, October 15th, 2024 from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. your local time: Plusle* encounters, 5,000 XP, and 2,500 Stardust
  • Wednesday, October 16th, 2024 from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. your local time: Magnemite* encounters and 1 Magnetic Lure Module
  • Thursday, October 17th, 2024 from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. your local time: Minun* encounters, 5,000 XP, and 2,500 Stardust

These Field Research Tasks can be found when spinning PokéStops (and acquired if you have an open slot in your Field Research menu) when the event is active.

During the event, PokéStop Showcases will be active. The theme of these contests is to submit the biggest Pokémon being requested. This section will be updated once the PokéStop Showcases are active.
