Pokémon GO’s Season of Shared Skies’ Triumph Together event guide

Outside of August 2024’s Community Day event, the last big event for Pokémon GO’s Season of Shared Skies is all about teamwork. All Trainers, regardless of team affiliation, must come together and complete Global Challenges to unlock event bonuses, Timed Research, and Field Research tasks. Doing so, Trainers will get to encounter some returning Costumed Pokémon. (For more details about the Season of Shared Skies, you can check out our Season of Shared Skies guide hub.)

Pokémon GO’s Season of Shared Skies – Triumph Together

Begins: Friday, August 23rd, 2024 at 3 p.m. PDT | 6 p.m. EDT

Ends: Friday, August 30th, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. PDT | Saturday, August 31st, 2024 at 2:59 a.m. EDT

 

Pokémon featured – Team Valor Ponyta, Team Instinct Elekid, Team Mystic Lapras, Grimer wearing a party hat, and Slakoth wearing a visor

 

 

There are no debuts for this event, but a selection of Costumed Pokémon will be back. Notably, this includes a Team Valor-themed Ponyta, Team Instinct-themed Elekid, and Team Mystic-themed Lapras that were only available in specific events during Pokémon GO’s Season of Rising Heroes.

• Ponyta wearing a Candela-themed accessory* (Costumed Ponyta): Initially available during A Valorous Hero event in 2023, “Candela’s Ponyta” is back. Trainers will be able to encounter this Ponyta via the Team Valor-themed Timed Research that will be available once the Team Valor Global Challenge is completed. An additional encounter with this Ponyta will be available via the event’s paid Timed Research.
• Elekid wearing a Spark-themed accessory* (Costumed Elekid): Initially available during the An Instinctive Hero event in 2023, “Spark’s Elekid” is back. Trainers will be able to encounter this Elekid via the Team Instinct-themed Timed Research that will be available once the Team Valor and Team Instinct Global Challenges are completed. An additional encounter  with this Elekid will be available via the event’s paid Timed Research.
• Lapras wearing a Blanche-themed accessory* (Costumed Lapras): Initially available during A Mystic Hero event in 2023, “Blanche’s Lapras” is back. Trainers will be able to encounter this Lapras via the Team Mystic-themed Timed Research that will be available once the Team Valor, Team Instinct, and Team Mystic Global Challenges are completed. An additional encounter with this Lapras will be available via the event’s paid Timed Research.
• Grimer wearing a party hat* (Costumed Grimer): Debuting earlier this season for Pokémon GO’s 8th anniversary event, you’ll get another chance to catch Grimer wearing a party hat. This Grimer will only be available by hatching 7 km Eggs obtained during the event.
• Slakoth wearing a visor* (Costumed Slakoth): Another debut from this season – Slakoth wearing a visor is from the Slumbering Sands event. This Slakoth will only be available by hatching 7 km Eggs obtained during the event.

 

Note: Going forward, these Pokémon will be referred to as “Costumed” rather than the exact outfit they are wearing.

 

Event Bonuses

Event bonuses will be available throughout the event, but with a catch. Bonuses can only be unlocked by completing Global Challenges. There will be a total of three Global Challenges, but they will not be available all at once. The first challenge (Valor Global Challenge) must be completed before the second challenge is issued (Instinct Global Challenge) and the second challenge must be completed before the third and final challenge is activated (Mystic Global Challenge). Once an event bonus is unlocked, it’ll be active for the remainder of the event.

 

Overall Event Bonuses

• Team GO Rocket will appear more frequently at Pokéstops and in balloons (unlocked on Friday, August 23rd, 2024 at 3 p.m. PDT, but it activated early in some parts of the world)
• 2× XP for spinning PokéStops (unlocked on Monday, August 26th, 2024 at 11:23 a.m. PDT | 2:23 p.m. EDT)
• 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed into Incubators during the event (unlocked on Monday, August 26th, 2024 at 11:23 a.m. PDT | 2:23 p.m. EDT)
• 2× Stardust for hatching Eggs (unlocked on Wednesday, August 28th, 2024 at 2:33 a.m. PDT | 5:33 a.m. EDT)

Global Challenges

Three Global Challenges will be issued during the Triumph Together event and only one challenge will be active at a time. When active, Trainers from around the world can complete the challenge at hand to unlock event bonuses and the next challenge.

 

Valor Global Challenge

• Challenge: Defeat 75,000,000 Team GO Rocket members

Mystic Global Challenge

• Challenge: Complete 35,000,000 Field Research tasks
• Challenge active on: Wednesday, August 28th, 2024 at 2:33 a.m. PDT | 5:33 a.m. EDT
• Challenge completed on: Thursday, August 29th, 2024 at 3:03 p.m. PDT | 6:03 p.m. EDT

 

Eggs

The following Pokémon will be hatching from Eggs that are obtained during the event beginning on Monday, August 26th, 2024 at 11:23 a.m. PDT | 2:23 p.m. EDT:

• 7 km Eggs
  • 1-Egg Rarity: Costumed Grimer*, Slugma*, Costumed Slakoth*, Litleo*, Komala*, and Togedemaru*.

Raids

Standard and Shadow Raids will be active during the event.

 

Standard Raids

The following Pokémon will be appearing in Raids:

• One-Star Raids: Alolan Sandshrew*, Alolan Vulpix*, Bergmite*, and Mareanie*.
• Three-Star Raids: Gardevoir*, Metagorss, and Drapion.
• Five-Star Raids: Xerneas* (See Additional Notes).
• Mega Raids: Mega Salamence* (See Additional Notes).

 

Shadow Raids

The following Pokémon will be appearing in Shadow Raids:

• One-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Mareep, Shadow Wooper, Shadow Cranidos, and Shadow Shieldon.
• Three-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Nuzleaf, Shadow Manecrtric, and Shadow Vibrava.
• Five-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Suicune* (See Additional Notes).

Three Timed Research quests can be released throughout the event (if Trainers complete the event’s Global Challenges). Each Timed Research will focus on a team – Team Valor, Team Instinct, and Team Mystic.

Triumph Together Timed Research: Fight with Valor

• Task: Defeat 1 Team GO Rocket member
  • Reward: 5 Hyper Potionss
• Task: Defeat 2 Team GO Rocket members
  • Reward: 5 Revives
• Completion Rewards: Costumed Ponyta* encounter, 10,000 XP, and 5,000 Stardust

 

Triumph Together Timed Research: Team Instinct

• Task: Hatch an Egg
  • Reward: 10 Razz Berries
• Task: Hatch 2 Eggs
  • Reward: 2 Golden Razz Berries
• Completion Rewards: Costumed Elekid* encounter, 10,000 XP, and 5,000 Stardust

 

Triumph Together Timed Research: Studied Yet Mystic

• Task: Complete a Field Research task
  • Reward: 10 Pinap Berries
• Task: Complete 2 Field Research tasks
  • Reward: 2 Silver Pinap Berries
• Completion Rewards: Costumed Lapras* encounter, 10,000 XP, and 5,000 Stardust

Field Research Tasks

There will be event-exclusive Field Research Tasks available, but they won’t be active until the Valor and Instinct Global Challenges are completed (Wednesday, August 28th, 2024 at 2:33 a.m. PDT | 5:33 a.m. EDT). Once unlocked, the rewards include the following Pokémon encounters: Cyndaquil*, Beldum*, Tirtouga*, Archen*, Ducklett*, Emolga*, Tynamo*, Goomy*, Crabrawler*, and Tandemaus. These Field Research Tasks can be found when spinning PokéStops (and acquired if you have an open slot in your Field Research menu) when the event is active.

• Task: Trade a Pokémon

PokéStop Showcase

During the event, PokéStop Showcases will be active. The theme of these contests is to submit the biggest Pokémon being requested. This section will be updated once the PokéStop Showcases are active.

• Saturday, August 24th, 2024 at 10 a.m. to Sunday, August 25th, 2024 at 8 p.m. your local time: All Fire-type Pokémon
• Monday, August 26th, 2024 at 10 a.m. to Tuesday, August 27th, 2024 at 8 p.m. your local time: All Electric-type Pokémon
• Wednesday, August 28th, 2024 at 10 a.m. to Thursday, August 29th, 2024 at 8 p.m. your local time: All Ice-type Pokémon
• Saturday, August 31st, 2024 at 10 a.m. to Sunday, September 1st, 2024 at 8 p.m. your local time: Popplio and Primarina

 

Paid Timed Research – Triumph Together Premium Timed Research

During the Triumph Together event, Trainers can purchase a ticket to access an event-themed Timed Research. For US$4.99 OR US$5.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll get the Triumph Together Premium Timed Research which rewards Trainers with the following rewards (if tasks are completed within the time limit): 2 Premium Battle Passes, 1 Rocket Radar, 1 Super Incubator, 1 Lure Module, and encounters with Pokémon (including Costumed Ponyta*, Costumed Lapras*, and Costumed Elekid*).

Sales for this Timed Research will be available in the Pokémon GO in-game shop and on the Pokémon GO Web Store. Trainers that purchase the ticket via the Pokémon GO Web Store will get an additional item – 1 Egg Incubator. According to Niantic, “[t]ickets are nonrefundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service).” Tickets can also be gifted to Trainers you’re friends with provided that you have a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with them. This can be done via the in-game shop and by selecting the “Gift” button instead of the “Buy” button. Tickets purchased for friends are nonrefundable as well.

Please keep in mind that Timed Research quests have deadlines. Trainers must complete this Triumph Together Premium Timed Research and claim all rewards before Friday, August 30th, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. PDT.
