The Nintendo Pop-Up Shop at Argos’ Tottenham Court Road location has announced that it will be holding a midnight launch event for the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. The attendees of the midnight launch will be able to receive a free N64 replica packaging for their copy of the game. Fashioned after the original PAL packaging used in 1998, this is similar to the packaging that Micromania in France is giving out.

This offer is a “while supplies last” type of deal, but it’s an incredible blast of nostalgia for people who played the N64 version. I would kill for a slip cover or something similar for the US release. Well, not literally, but I do wish we were getting something more than the textured foil cover for the physical edition’s first print run. Buyers who make the trek out to this event in the UK will also receive a bonus Ocarina of Time key ring. Though, the offer is only valid for in-store purchases, so you won’t be able to pre-order online and receive these bonuses.

What’s interesting about this Nintendo retail spot at Argos is that it was originally meant to be a limited-time pop-up store. Nintendo UK announced as much last year and, possibly due to the overwhelming success, has kept the store active for the past year. I’m sure fans are happy the store stuck around for special events and exclusives like this.
