And the third Ultra Unlock event for Pokémon GO’s Season of Shared Skies is here. Keeping up with the new debut theme, Ultra Unlock Part 3 is all about Mega Lucario! That means Trainers can participate in Mega Lucario Raids and earn Lucario Mega Energy to Mega Evolve their own Lucario. Pokémon GO’s Season of Shared Skies – Ultra Unlock Part 3: Mega Raid Day

Begins: Saturday, July 27th, 2024 at 11 a.m. your local time.

Ends: Saturday, July 27th, 2024 at 5 p.m. your local time.

 

Pokémon debuts – Mega Lucario

 

 

Mega Lucario is finally available in Pokémon GO! Trainers will need to participate in Mega Lucario Raids and win to collect Lucario Mega Energy. Once enough Mega Energy is obtained (typically 200), you can Mega Evolve your Lucario in Mega Lucario! (Note: Catch reward encounters from Mega Lucario Raids will be Lucario.)

 

Event Bonuses

  • Mega Lucario will appear more frequently in Mega Raids
  • Receive up to five additional free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs
  • Increased chance of encountering Shiny Lucario
  • 1.5× more XP from Raid Battles
  • Increased chance to get Rare Candy XL from in-person Raid Battles
  • The Remote Raid limit will be increased to 20 from Friday, July 26th, at 5 p.m. to Saturday, July 27th, 2024, at 8 p.m. PDT

 

If the Ultra Unlock Part 3: Mega Raid Day event ticket is purchased, the following bonuses will also be in effect on Saturday, July 27th, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. your local time:

  • Eight additional Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs
  • Increased chance to get Rare Candy XL from Raid Battles
  • One guaranteed Rare Candy XL when catching Lucario
  • 3× more XP from Raid Battles
  • 2× Stardust from Raid Battles

 

This event also happens during the Ultra Unlock Part 2: Steel of Strength event, so the following bonuses will also be active:

  • Additional Candy XL for successfully catching Pokémon for Trainers level 31 and up.
  • Increased chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL for successfully catching Pokémon with Nice Throws or better.
  • Additional Candy for Nice Throws or better.
  • 3× Stardust for catching Pokémon.
  • Togedemaru appearing in One-Star Raids will have a greater chance of being Shiny than when found in the wild.

 

Also, for Trainers who have purchased The Grow Together Ticket, the following bonus will be active:

  • 5× XP on your first PokéStop or Gym spin of the day

 

Event Boxes

If any special event boxes or bundles are released during the event, they’ll be listed here once the event is live.

 

Raids

Standard and Shadow Raids will be active during the event. During the Ultra Unlock Part 3: Mega Raid Day event, Mega Lucario Raids will be given priority.

 

Standard Raids

The following Pokémon will be appearing in Raids:

  • One-Star Raids: Skarmory*, Klink*, Pawniard*, and Togedemaru*.
  • Three-Star Raids: Steelix*, Scizor*, Mawile*, and Aggron*.
  • Five-Star Raids: Tornadus (Incarnate Forme)* (See Additional Notes).
  • Mega Raids: Mega Lucario*.

 

Shadow Raids

The following Pokémon will be appearing in Shadow Raids:

  • One-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Drowzee*, Shadow Poliwag*, Shadow Barboach, and Shadow Foongus.
  • Three-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Hitmontop, Shadow Wobbuffet, and Shadow Sneasel*.
  • Five-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Entei* (See Additional Notes).

 

Additional Notes:

  • Pokémon marked with an * means that “If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one!”
    • Togedemaru appearing in one-star raids will have a greater chance of being a Shiny Pokémon than when found in the wild.
  • Standard Raids:
    • Five-Star Raids:
      • Tornadus (Incarnate Forme)* will be available after the event (in Five-Star Raids), until Saturday, August 3rd, 2024 at 10 a.m. your local time.
    • Mega Raids:
      • Mega Lucario* will debut in Pokémon GO on Saturday, July 27th, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. your local time.
        • These Mega Raids will be given priority over all Raids.
  • Shadow Raids:
    • One- and Three-Star Shadow Raids will be available daily.
    • Five-Star Shadow Raids will be available on weekends (Saturday and Sunday), unless otherwise stated by Niantic.
      • Five-Star Shadow Raids featuring Shadow Entei* will be impacted by Mega Lucario* Mega Raids.

 

Featured Attack for Lucario

Lucario will know the attack Force Palm (Fast Attack) when caught from Mega Raids (or taught the attack by using an Elite Fast TM) on Saturday, July 27th, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. your local time.

Force Palm’s (Fast Attack) stats are as follows:

  • Trainer Battles:  13 power
  • Gyms and Raids:  9 power

 

PokéStop Showcase

During the event, PokéStop Showcases will be active. The theme of these contests is to submit the biggest Pokémon being requested. This section will be updated once the PokéStop Showcase starts.

  • Saturday, July 27th, 2024 at 10 a.m. to Sunday, July 28th, 2024 at 8 p.m. your local time: Lucario

 

Paid Ticket – Mega Lucario Raid Day Ticket

During the event, Trainers can purchase a ticket to access additional bonuses (via the in-game shop or the Pokémon GO Web Store). For US$4.99 OR US$5.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll get the five additional bonuses that will go into effect on Saturday, July 27th, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. your local time.

Sales for this ticket will end on Saturday, July 27th, 2024 at 5 p.m. your local time. According to Niantic, “[t]ickets are nonrefundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service).” Tickets can also be gifted to Trainers you’re friends with provided that you have a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with them. This can be done via the in-game shop and by selecting the “Gift” button instead of the “Buy” button. Tickets purchased for friends are nonrefundable as well.

The bonuses that this ticket will provide are the following:

  • Eight additional Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs
  • Increased chance to get Rare Candy XL from Raid Battles
  • One guaranteed Rare Candy XL when catching Lucario
  • 3× more XP from Raid Battles
  • 2× Stardust from Raid Battles

 

Pokémon GO Web Store Bonus – Lucario Mask (Avatar Item)

A new avatar item themed after Lucario will be available only to Trainers who purchase the paid Mega Lucario Raid Day ticket via the Pokémon GO Web Store. According to the blog post on the official Pokémon GO website, Trainers who purchase the ticket will get “exclusive early access” to the Lucario Mask. It is unclear when this avatar item will be released in the future and how many PokéCoins it’ll cost.

The new avatar items are the following: Lucario Mask (via Mega Lucario Raid Day ticket. US$4.99 OR US$5).
