As promised, the Ultra Unlock events for July 2024 have been unlocked thanks to Trainers completing Global Challenges during Pokémon GO Fest 2024: Global. Pokémon GO’s Season of Shared Skies – Ultra Unlock Part 2: Strength of Steel

Begins: Thursday, July 25th, 2024 at 10 a.m. your local time.

Ends: Tuesday, July 30th, 2024 at 8 p.m. your local time.

 

Pokémon debuts – Shiny Togedemaru

 

 

Shiny Togedemaru debuts in Pokémon GO! You can find Togedemaru in the wild, in One-Star Raids, as catch reward encounters in select Field Research, and possibly as reward encounters in Timed Research and Collection Challenges. For better Shiny odds, you’ll want to challenge Togedemaru in One-Star Raids, as their shiny rates will be greater than compared to wild encounters.

 

Event Bonuses

  • Additional Candy XL for successfully catching Pokémon for Trainers level 31 and up.
  • Increased chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL for successfully catching Pokémon with Nice Throws or better.
  • Additional Candy for Nice Throws or better.
  • 3× Stardust for catching Pokémon.
  • Togedemaru appearing in One-Star Raids will have a greater chance of being Shiny than when found in the wild.

 

On Saturday, July 27th, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. your local time (unless otherwise stated), the following bonuses will be in effect due to the Ultra Unlock Part 3: Mega Raid Day featuring Mega Lucario event:

  • Mega Lucario will appear more frequently in Mega Raids
  • Receive up to five additional free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs
  • Increased chance of encountering Shiny Lucario
  • 1.5× more XP from Raid Battles
  • Increased chance to get Rare Candy XL from in-person Raid Battles
  • The Remote Raid limit will be increased to 20 from Friday, July 26th, at 5 p.m. to Saturday, July 27th, 2024, at 8 p.m. PDT

 

If the Ultra Unlock Part 3: Mega Raid Day event ticket is purchased, the following bonuses will also be in effect on Saturday, July 27th, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. your local time:

  • Eight additional Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs
  • Increased chance to get Rare Candy XL from Raid Battles
  • One guaranteed Rare Candy XL when catching Lucario
  • 3× more XP from Raid Battles
  • 2× Stardust from Raid Battles

 

Also, for Trainers who have purchased The Grow Together Ticket, the following bonus will be active:

  • 5× XP on your first PokéStop or Gym spin of the day

 

Event Boxes

If any special event boxes or bundles are released during the event, they’ll be listed here once the event is live.

 

Wild Encounters

  • The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild: Alolan Sandshrew*, Magnemite*, Pineco*, Nosepass*, Aron*, Beldum*, Bronzor*, Ferroseed*, Galarian Stunfisk*, and Togedemaru*.
    • If you’re lucky, you might encounter the following Pokémon: Onix*, Scyther*, Skarmory*, and Klink*.

Raids

Standard and Shadow Raids will be active during the event. During the Ultra Unlock Part 3: Mega Raid Day event, Mega Lucario Raids will be given priority.

  • One-Star Raids: Skarmory*, Klink*, Pawniard*, and Togedemaru*.
  • Three-Star Raids: Steelix*, Scizor*, Mawile*, and Aggron*.
  • Five-Star Raids: Tornadus (Incarnate Forme)* (See Additional Notes).
  • Mega Raids:
    • Mega Aggron* (See Additional Notes).
      • Active on:
        • Tuesday, July 23rd, 2024 at 10 a.m. to Saturday, July 27th, 2024 at 11 a.m. your local time.
        • Saturday, July 27th, 2024 at 5 p.m. to Saturday, August 3rd, 2024 at 10 a.m. your local time.
    • Mega Lucario*
      • Active on:
        • Saturday, July 27th, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. your local time.

 

Shadow Raids

The following Pokémon will be appearing in Shadow Raids:

  • One-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Drowzee*, Shadow Poliwag*, Shadow Barboach, and Shadow Foongus.
  • Three-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Hitmontop, Shadow Wobbuffet, and Shadow Sneasel*.
  • Five-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Entei* (See Additional Notes).

Timed Research

A free Timed Research quest will be active during the event. Rewards when completing this TimedResearch include a Magnetic Lure Module, XP, and encounters with event-themed Pokémon.

  • Task: Catch 50 Steel-type Pokémon
    • Reward: Beldum* encounter
  • Task: Power up Steel-type Pokémon 15 times
    • Reward: Togedemaru* encounter

    • Reward: Klink* encounter
  • Task: Earn 25,000 Stardust
    • Reward: Skarmory* encounter
  • Task: Win 3 Raids
    • Reward: Mawile* encounter
  • Task: Catch 7 different species of Steel-type Pokémon
    • Reward: 3 Metal Coats
  • Completion Rewards: Pawniard* encounter, 1 Magnetic Lure Module, and 10,000 XP

Field Research Tasks

There will be event-exclusive Field Research Tasks available and the rewards include the following Pokémon encounters: Beldum*, Klink*, and Togedemaru*. Steelix Mega Energy, Scizor Mega Energy, and Aggron Mega Energy will also be rewarded when completing specific tasks. These Field Research Tasks can be found when spinning PokéStops (and acquired if you have an open slot in your Field Research menu) when the event is active.

  • Task: Catch 10 Steel-type Pokémon
    • Reward: Togedemaru* encounter
  • Task: Catch 15 Steel-type Pokémon

    • Reward: 25 Steelix Mega Energy OR 25 Scizor Mega Energy OR 25 Aggron Mega Energy
  • Task: Power up Steel-type Pokémon 5 times

  • Task: Explore 2 km

PokéStop Showcase

During the event, PokéStop Showcases will be active. The theme of these contests is to submit the biggest Pokémon being requested. This section will be updated once the PokéStop Showcases begin.

  • Saturday, July 27th, 2024 at 10 a.m. to Sunday, July 28th, 2024 at 8 p.m. your local time: Lucario
  • Monday, July 29th, 2024 at 10 a.m. to Tuesday, July 30th, 2024 at 8 p.m. your local time: All Steel-type Pokémon

 

Collection Challenges

Special, event-exclusive Collection Challenges will be available. According to Niantic, this Collection Challenge will reward Trainers with Stardust, Mega Energy for specific Steel-type Pokémon, event-themed Pokémon encounters, and an addition to the Elite Collector medal. A complete list of what Pokémon must be caught/traded/evolved and the associated rewards will be added here once the event is live.

 

Heavy Metal Collection Challenge

  • Catch: Aron and Bronzor.
  • Evolve: Lairon into Aggron and Bronzor into Bronzong.
  • Completion Rewards: 5,000 Stardust, Aggron* encounter, and 100 Aggron Mega Energy.

 

This Ore That Collection Challenge

  • Catch: Galarian Stunfisk and Magnemite.
  • Evolve: Magnemite into Magneton and Magneton into Magnezone.
  • Completion Rewards: 5,000 Stardust, Steelix* encounter, and 100 Steelic Mega Energy.

 

Chrome Catch Collection Challenge

  • Catch: Nosepass, Togedemaru, Skarmory, and Beldum.
  • Completion Rewards: 5,000 Stardust, Scizor* encounter, and 100 Scizor Mega Energy.
