Pokémon GO’s Season of Hidden Gems’ Riolu Hatch Day event guide

A new event is debuting in Pokémon GO! Similar to Research Days, Raid Days, and Community Days, this new event will focus on hatching Eggs. Of course, like these other events, the “Day” label means a three-hour-long event on a particular day. Aptly named Hatch Day, a particular Pokémon will be featured in Eggs (2 km) and have boosted rates at hatching out of an Egg as well as being Shiny.

For the first Hatch Day event, Riolu (the pre-evolved form of Lucario) will be featured. Trainers will have three hours to hatch (as well as hoard) as many 2 km Eggs as they can. Pro tip: clear those nine Egg slots prior to the event.

Pokémon GO’s Season of Hidden Gems – Riolu Hatch Day

Begins: Saturday, July 22nd, 2023 at 2 p.m. your local time.

Ends: Saturday, July 22nd, 2023 at 5 p.m. your local time.

 

Pokémon featured – Riolu

 

 

The Riolu Hatch Day event is, of course, all about Riolu*! 2 km Eggs that are obtained from spinning PokéStops or Gyms during the event will have boosted rates of containing Riolu* as well as being Shiny.

Event Bonuses

• You’ll have an increased chance of hatching Shiny Riolu!
• 2× Stardust from hatching Eggs
• 2 km Eggs will drop much more frequently from PokéStops

 

Event Boxes

If any special event boxes or bundles are released during the event, they’ll be listed here once the event is live.

Once again, Niantic is promoting its online Pokémon GO Web Store with two exclusive Egg Hatching-focused bundles. A Great Hatch Box and an Ultra Hatch Box will only be available for purchase via the online store.

• Journeyer Box (925 PokéCoins, no purchase limit): 5 Super Incubators, 5 Egg Incubators, and 2 Lucky Eggs.
• Voyager Box (2,100 PokéCoins, no purchase limit): 10 Super Incubators, 20 Egg Incubators, and 3 Lucky Eggs.

 

Eggs

The following Pokémon will be hatching from Eggs that are obtained during the event:

• 2 km Eggs
  • 1-Egg Rarity: Riolu*.
  • 5-Egg Rarity: Staryu*, Magikarp*, Cleffa*, Igglybuff*, Magby*, Azurill*, Larvesta, Fomantis, and Wimpod.

Timed Research – Riolu Hatch Day

A Timed Research quest will be active during the event. Trainers who complete it can receive a Super Incubator. All tasks must be completed and rewards claimed before Saturday, July 22nd, 2023 at 5 p.m. your local time.

A complete list of tasks for all routes and the rewards will be shared here once the event is live.

 

• Task: Hatch an Egg
  • Reward: 1,000 XP
• Completion Reward: 1 Super Incubator

 

Field Research Tasks

There will be event-exclusive Field Research Tasks available and the rewards include the following: Candy, Stardust, Berries, Great Balls, and XP. These Field Research Tasks can be found when spinning PokéStops (and acquired if you have an open slot in your Field Research menu) when the event is active.

• Task: Spin 5 PokéStops or Gyms
  • Reward: 5 Poké Balls OR 5 Razz Berries OR 300 Stardust
• Task: Earn a Candy exploring with your Buddy
  • Reward: 3 Great Balls OR 3 Pinap Berries OR 500 XP
