Niantic will be attending Gamescom LATAM at the São Paulo Expo and will have an in-person activation there. Trainers attending the event can Lure PokéStops and have a chance at encountering Unown G, complete a free Timed Research featuring Pikachu wearing a Party Hat, and complete event-exclusive Field Research. (For more details about the Season of Shared Skies, you can check out our Season of Shared Skies guide hub.)

Now, check out what’s happening during the Gamescom LATAM event with our guide below:

Pokémon GO’s Season of Shared Skies – Gamescom LATAM

Begins: Wednesday, June 26th, 2024 at 2 p.m. your local time.

Ends: Sunday, June 30th, 2024 at 8 p.m. your local time.

Pokémon featured – Party Hat Pikachu, Unown G, Hisuian Growlithe, Larvitar, Audino, Axew, Furfrou, and Jangmo-o

Trainers that are at the São Paulo Expo can encounter the following Pokémon:

  • Party Hat Pikachu (Costumed Pikachu): Trainers can catch this Costumed Pikachu by completing the Me, You, and Pikachu! Timed Research.
  • Unown G: Trainers looking to catch this Unown will have to lure PokéStops. If you’re lucky, you’ll attract Unown G to that PokéStop.
  • Hisuian Growlithe, Larvitar, Audino, Axew, Furfrou, and Jangmo-o: These six Pokémon will be available as catch reward encounters in Field Research obtained at the event. These Field Research tasks will be noted as “BONUS EVENT” in the bottom right-hand corner of the tasks’ box.

Event Bonuses

  • Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours. (This does not include Golden Lures.)
  • Lure Modules have a chance of attracting Unown G.
  • 2× Buddy Catch Assist chance.
  • 1/2 Stardust cost for trades.

This event also overlaps with Pokémon GO’s 8th Anniversary Party event, so the following bonuses will also be available:

  • Increased chance to become Lucky Friends.
  • Increased chance to get Lucky Pokémon in trades.
  • Friendship levels will increase faster than normal through opening Gifts, trading Pokémon, or battling together in raids, Gyms, or Trainer Battles!
  • Chance of finding 8 or 88 (or maybe more!) Gimmighoul Coins when you spin a PokéStop with a Golden Lure Module.
  • Reduced cooldown time for the Mystery Box (2 days instead of 3 days).

Also, the Elite Raid Day: Mega Rayquaza event will overlap with this event (happening on Saturday, July 29th, 2024), but there aren’t any specific bonuses from that event.
