Happy April Fowl’s Day? This year’s April Fools’ Day event in Pokémon GO is a massive Pidgey invasion. The Pidgey pen has been busted wide open at Professor Willow’s laboratory, freeing all those transferred birds. For a brief window on April Fools’ Day, they’ll be appearing in droves.

Pokémon GO’s Season of Rising Heroes – Pidgey Pandemonium
Begins: Saturday, April 1st, 2023 at 1 p.m. your local time.
Ends: Saturday, April 1st, 2023 at 7 p.m. your local time.
Pokémon featured – Pidgey
SQUAWK! Pidgeys… everywhere… XXS Pidgeys, XXL, Pidgeys, Shiny Pidgeys… just Pidgeys.
Event Bonuses
- Increased chance of finding XXS and XXL Pidgey.
- More Pidgey are appearing in the wild!

If any special event boxes or bundles are released during the event, they’ll be listed here once the event is live.
Wild Encounters
- The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild: Pidgey*.

Field Research Tasks
There will be event-exclusive Field Research Tasks available and the rewards include the following Pokémon encounters: Pidgey*. These Field Research Tasks can be found when spinning PokéStops (and acquired if you have an open slot in your Field Research menu) when the event is active.

An event-exclusive Special Research Story will be available. It can only be claimed on Saturday, April 1st, 2023 from 3 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. your local time.

- Task: Catch 10 Pokémon
- Reward: 25 Poké Balls
- Task: Transfer 10 Pokémon
- Reward: 5 Potions
- Task: Make 5 Nice Throws
- Reward: 5 Nanab Berries
- Completion Rewards: 1,000 Stardust, 1 Pidgey* Encounter, and 5 Razz Berries.
Step 2/2
- Task: Claim Reward!
- Reward: 10 Ultra Balls
- Task: Claim Reward!
- Reward: 5 Hyper Potions
- Task: Claim Reward!
- Reward: 3,500 XP
- Completion Rewards: 3,000 Stardust, 1 Pidgey* Encounter, and 15 Pidgey Candies.

There will be an assortment of event-themed stickers featuring Pidgey. You can get them by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, and/or purchasing them from Pokémon GO’s in-game shop (with PokéCoins) during the event.
