Pokémon GO’s Season of Precious Paths’ Journey to Paldea event guide

The next event kicking off December 2025 in Pokémon is dedicated to the Paldea region! Nacli and its evolution line debut in-game, plus Paldean Tauros are available once again via Three-Star Raids. Watch out for wild encounters on each day, and a break during Pokémon GO’s December Community Day weekend event!

Pokémon GO’s Season of Precious Paths – Journey to Paldea

Begins: Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025 at 10 a.m. your local time.

Ends: Monday, December 9th, 2025 at 8 p.m. your local time.

 

Pokémon debuts – Nacli, Naclstack, and Garganacl

 

 

Nacli, Naclstack, and Garganacl will be available in Pokémon at the start of the Journey to Paldea event! Trainers can find Nacli in the wild (if they’re lucky) and in the event’s Paid Timed Research. Nacli may also be available via reward encounter from Collection Challenge(s), Field Research Tasks, and more, but we won’t know for sure until the event starts.

To get Naclstack, Trainers will need a Nacli and 25 Nacli Candies in order to evolve Nacli into Naclstack.

To get Garganacl, Trainers will need a Naclstack and 100 Nacli Candies in order to evolve Naclstack into Garganacl.

 

Event Bonuses

• 2× XP for winning Raid Battles
• 2× XP for evolving Pokémon
• Increased chance to encounter Shiny Larvitar and Shiny Bagon

 

Plus, the following Season of Precious Paths bonuses will be in effect:

• One additional Special Trade per day
• Increased Stardust for the first catch of the day
• Increased friendship bonus damage dealt by Pokémon in Raids

 

And if Trainers purchase the GO Pass Deluxe for GO Pass, then the following bonuses will also be active until January 2nd, 2026 at 9 a.m. your local time:

• Tier 1: 
  • Open up to 40 Gifts per day
  • Receive up to 125 Gifts per day from spinning PokéStop and Gym Photo Discs
  • Hold up to 10 additional Gifts in your Item Bag
• Tier 2:
  • 2× Daily Adventure Incense duration
• Tier 3:
  • Additional rewards for completing in-person Raids and Max Battles

 

Event Boxes

The Journey to Paldea Ultra Ticket Box will be available for US$1.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). Daily bundles are also available and can be viewed online via the Pokémon GO Web Store.

Wild Encounters

• The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild: Nymble*, Pawmi*, and Smoliv*.
  • If you’re lucky, you might encounter the following Pokémon: Nacli.

• Sunday, December 7th, 2025 (12 a.m to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. your local time): Misdreavus*, Bagon*, Clauncher*, and more.

• Three-Star Raids: Paldean Tauros (Combat Breed) (Iberian Peninsula), Paldean Tauros (Blaze Breed) (Eastern Hemisphere), Paldean Tauros (Aqua Breed) (Western Hemisphere), Bombirdier*, and Dondozo*.

  • Cobalion*, Terrakion*, and Virizion* (See Additional Notes).

Collection Challenge

A special, event-exclusive Collection Challenge will be available. According to Niantic, this Collection Challenge will reward Trainers with CO, Stardust, encounters with event-themed Pokémon, and an addition to the Elite Collector medal. A complete list of what Pokémon must be caught/traded/evolved and the associated rewards will be added here once the event is live.

 

Paid Ticket – Journey to Paldea

During the Journey to Paldea event, Trainers can purchase a ticket to access an event-themed Timed Research. For US$1.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll get a Timed Research which rewards Trainers with the following items (if tasks are completed within the time limit): 3,000 Stardust, 2 Premium Battle Passes, and encounters with event-themed Pokémon (including Larvitar, Bagon, and Nacli).

According to Niantic, “[t]ickets are nonrefundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service).” Tickets can also be gifted to Trainers you’re friends with provided that you have a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with them. This can be done via the in-game shop and by selecting the “Gift” button instead of the “Buy” button. Tickets purchased for friends are nonrefundable as well.

Please keep in mind that Timed Research quests have deadlines. Trainers must complete this Timed Research and claim all rewards before Tuesday, December 9th, 2025 at 8 p.m. your local time.
