Another Pokémon from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet joins the Pokédex in Pokémon GO! It’s time for Glimmet’s time to shine and be available in Routes. During the Into the Depths event, Glimmet will also be available as encounters in Field Research and paid Timed Research tasks. Plus, shiny rates for Diglett and Yungoos will be increased during the event.

Pokémon GO’s Season of Precious Paths – Into the Depths

Begins: Tuesday, January 27th, 2026 at 10 a.m. your local time.

Ends: Sunday, February 1st, 2026 at 8 p.m. your local time.

 

Pokémon debuts – Glimmet

 

 

Glimmet debuts in Pokémon GO! Unfortunately, it is unclear if Glimmet’s evolved form Glimmora will be available in Pokémon GO as well. For now, you can find Glimmet in the event’s paid Timed Research and Field Research tasks. Glimmet is also available to encounter while partaking in Routes. And, if Into the Depths does get a free Timed Research quest, Glimmet encounters will be available there as well.

 

Event Bonuses

  • 3× XP from completing Routes
  • 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance
  • Increased chance of encountering Shiny Diglett and Shiny Yungoos
  • If Paid Timed Research is purchased: 2× Hatch Candy

 

Due to two other events happening during the Into the Depths event (Dynamax Ho-Oh Max Battle Weekend and February 2026 Community Day), the following bonuses will be active during certain times:

  • Dynamax Ho-Oh Max Battle Weekend (Saturday, January 31st, 2026 at 6 a.m. to Sunday, February 1st, 2026 at 9 p.m. your local time):
    • Max Particle collection limit increased to 1,600
    • 1/4 Adventuring distance to receive Max Particles
      • For this bonus to apply, Trainers must first collect all Max Particles available in the Nearby menu. Trainers can collect Max Particles via the Nearby menu each day by exploring. Adventure Sync can help make sure your distance counts! Keep an eye on the Nearby menu for the icon that shows when Max Particles are ready to collect.
    • Power Spots will refresh more frequently
    • 8× Max Particles from Power Spots
  • February 2026 Community Day (Sunday, February 1st, 2026 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. your local time):
    • 3× XP for catching Pokémon
    • 2× Candy for catching Pokémon
    • 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive XL Candy from catching Pokemon
    • Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours (Golden Lure Module excluded) (active from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. your local time)
      • Vulpix and Alolan Vulpix will have an increased chance to be Shiny and may have a Special Background during these extended hours
    • Incense activated during the event will last for three hours (Daily Adventure Incense excluded)
    • Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise! (Vulpix or Alolan Vulpix photobomb spawn. Can be repeated up to 5 times.)
    • Trades made will require 50% less Stardust (active from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. your local time)
    • One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of three for the day (active from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. your local time)

 

Plus, the following Season of Precious Paths bonuses will be in effect:

  • One additional Special Trade per day
  • Increased Stardust for the first catch of the day
  • Increased friendship bonus damage dealt by Pokémon in Raids

 

And if Trainers reach specific ranks in the GO Pass and/or GO Pass Deluxe, then the following bonuses will also be active until Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026 at 9 a.m. your local time:

  • Tier 1 (Rank 25): 
    • Open up to 40 Gifts per day
    • Receive up to 125 Gifts per day from spinning PokéStop and Gym Photo Discs
    • Hold up to 10 additional Gifts in your Item Bag
  • Tier 2 (Rank 50):
    • 2× Daily Adventure Incense duration
  • Tier 3 (Rank 75):
    • Additional rewards for completing in-person Raids and Max Battles

If GO Pass Deluxe is purchased, then the following bonuses will also be active when Rank 25 is reached, until Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026 at 9 a.m. your local time:

  • Tier 1 (Rank 25):
    • Open up to 50 Gifts per day
    • Receive up to 150 Gifts per day from spinning PokéStop and Gym Photo Discs
    • Hold up to 20 additional Gifts in your Item Bag

 

Event Boxes

If any special event boxes or bundles are released during the event, they’ll be listed here once the event is live. Daily bundles are also available and can be viewed online via the Pokémon GO Web Store.

  • Into the Depths Ultra Ticket Box (US$1.99, purchase limit 1, Pokémon GO Web Store only): 1 Ticket (for the Paid Timed Research), 5 Ultra Balls, and 24 Reward Points.

 

Wild Encounters

  • The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild: Diglett*, Dunsparce*, Meditite*, Yungoos* and more.

The following Pokémon will be hatching from Eggs that are obtained during the event:

  • 7 km Eggs
    • 1-Egg Rarity:  Diglett*, Larvitar*, Bagon*, Deino*,  and Yungoos*.
    • 5-Egg Rarity: Larvesta*.

Raids

Standard and Shadow Raids will be active during the event.

 

Standard Raids

The following Pokémon will be appearing in Raids:

  • One-Star Raids: Ekans*, Vanillite*, Honedge, and Sinistea*.
  • Three-Star Raids: Honchkrow, Beartic, and Bombirdier*.
  • Five-Star Raids: Tornadus (Incarnate Forme)* (See Additional Notes).
  • Mega Raids: Mega Ampharos* (See Additional Notes).

 

Shadow Raids

The following Pokémon will be appearing in Shadow Raids:

  • One-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Dratini*, Shadow Gligar*, Shadow Cacnea*, and Shadow Joltik.
  • Three-Star Shadow Raids: Shadow Alolan Marowak*, Shadow Lapras*, and Shadow Stantler*.
  • Five-Star Shadow Raids:
    • Shadow Cresselia* (until Sunday, February 1st, 2026 at 10 a.m. your local time).

Timed Research – Dynamax Ho-Oh Max Battle Weekend Lead-Up Timed Research

A Timed Research quest called Dynamax Ho-Oh Max Battle Weekend Lead-Up Timed Research will be active during the event. This Timed Research is to help Trainers prep for the Dynamax Ho-Oh Max Battle Weekend event happening during the end of Into the Depths’ event.

  • Task: Win 2 Max Battles
    • Reward: 25 Kabuto Candies

PokéStop Showcase

During the event, PokéStop Showcases will be active. The theme of these contests is to submit the biggest Pokémon being requested. This section will be updated once the PokéStop Showcases are active.

  • Monday, January 26th, 2026 at 10 a.m. to Wednesday, January 28th, 2026 at 8 p.m. your local time: Normal-type Pokémon
  • Saturday, January 31st, 2026 at 10 a.m. to Sunday, February 1st, 2026 at 8 p.m. your local time: ???

 

Paid Ticket – Into the Depths Premium Timed Research

During the Into the Depths event, Trainers can purchase a ticket to access an event-themed Timed Research. For US$1.99 OR US$2.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll get the Into the Depths Premium Timed Research which rewards Trainers with the following (if tasks are completed within the time limit): 2× Hatch Candy bonus, 2 Incubators, encounters with Diglett, Yungoos, and Glimmet, and more.

According to the fine print, “[t]ickets are nonrefundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service).” Tickets can also be gifted to Trainers you’re friends with provided that you have a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with them. This can be done via the in-game shop and by selecting the “Gift” button instead of the “Buy” button. Tickets purchased for friends are nonrefundable as well.

Please keep in mind that Timed Research quests have deadlines. Trainers must complete this Into the Depths Premium Timed Research and claim all rewards before Sunday, February 1st,2026 at 8 p.m. your local time.
