Pokémon GO’s Season of Precious Paths’ Gigantamax Snorlax Max Battle Day event guide

For December 2025, Gigantamax Snorlax returns in Pokémon GO for their very own Max Battle Day event. To take on Gigantamax Snorlax, you’ll need to team up with your fellow Trainers, build your Dynamax and Gigantamax team around type advantage, and even use a Max Mushroom if you don’t have enough Trainers to battle.

Pokémon GO’s Season of Precious Paths – Gigantamax Snorlax Max Battle Day

Begins: Sunday, December 14th, 2025 at 2 p.m. your local time.

Ends: Sunday, December 14th, 2025 at 5 p.m. your local time.

 

Pokémon featured – Gigantamax Snorlax

 

 

Gigantamax Snorlax returns in Pokémon GO via Six-Star Max Battles! You’ll need to team up with Trainers to defeat Gigantamax Snorlax and get a chance at catching one for your team. To make the battle a bit easier, Max Mushrooms can be utilize to double damage during the Max Battle (and they can be stacked to increase the duration of the double damage, not increasing the multiplier).

 

Event Bonuses

• Max Particle collection limit increased to 1,600
• All Power Spots will host Gigantamax Battles
• Power Spots will refresh more frequently
• 8× Max Particles from Power Spots
• Two additional Special Trades
• From December 13th at 5 p.m. to December 14th at 8 p.m. PST (GMT −8), the daily Remote Raid limit will increase from 10 to 20
• 2× Max Particles from exploring (active on Sunday, December 14th, 2025 from 12 a.m. to 5 p.m. your local time)
• 1/4 Adventuring distance to receive Max Particles (active on Sunday, December 14th, 2025 from 12 a.m. to 5 p.m. your local time)
• Additional Candy for completing Max Battles (active until Tuesday, December 16th, 2025 at 11 p.m. PST)
• Additional Candy XL for completing Max Battles (active until Tuesday, December 16th, 2025 at 11 p.m. PST)

 

If the Gigantamax Snorlax Max Battle Day Ticket (or Ultra Ticket Box via the Pokémon GO Web Store) is purchased, the following bonuses will also be active:

• 2× XP from Max Battles
• Max Particle collection limit increased to 5,600

 

Additional bonuses from the Well Armed event will be active since Gigantamax Snorlax Max Battle Day overlaps with the event.

Plus, the following Season of Precious Paths bonuses will be in effect:

• One additional Special Trade per day
• Increased Stardust for the first catch of the day
• Increased friendship bonus damage dealt by Pokémon in Raids

 

And if Trainers purchase the GO Pass Deluxe for GO Pass, then the following bonuses will also be active until January 2nd, 2026 at 9 a.m. your local time:

• Tier 1: 
  • Open up to 40 Gifts per day
  • Receive up to 125 Gifts per day from spinning PokéStop and Gym Photo Discs
  • Hold up to 10 additional Gifts in your Item Bag
• Tier 2:
  • 2× Daily Adventure Incense duration
• Tier 3:
  • Additional rewards for completing in-person Raids and Max Battles

Max Battles

Max Battles will be active during the event. All Power Spots will only feature Gigantamax Battles during the event.

• Max Battles require Max Particles (MP):
  • One-Star Max Battles cost 250 MP.
  • Tw0-Star Max Battles cost 400 MP.

  • Six-Star Max Battles cost 800 MP.

 

Timed Research – Gigantamax Snorlax Max Battle Day Lead-Up Timed Research

A Timed Research quest will be active prior to the event starting on Monday, December 8th, 2025 at 6 a.m. your local time (and will end on Sunday, December 14th, 2025 at 5 p.m. your local time).

• Task: Win a Max Battle
  • Reward: Dynamax Machop* encounter
• Task: Win 2 Max Battles
  • Reward: 25 Machop Candies
• Task: Win 3 Max Battles
  • Reward: 25 Machop Candies
• Task: Win 4 Max Battles
  • Reward: 25 Machop Candies
• Task: Win 5 Max Battles
  • Reward: 5 Machop Candy XL
• Completion Rewards: 7,500 Stardust and 1,500 Max Particles

PokéStop Showcase

During the event, PokéStop Showcases will be active. The theme of these contests is to submit the biggest Pokémon being requested.

• Saturday, December 13th, 2025 at 10 a.m. to Sunday, December 14, 2025 at 8 p.m. your local time: Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, and Snorlax

 

Paid Ticket – Gigantamax Snorlax Max Battle Day

During the Gigantamax Snorlax Max Battle Day event, Trainers can purchase a ticket to access an event-themed Timed Research. For US$4.99 OR US$5.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll get the Gigantamax Snorlax Max Battle Day Timed Research which rewards Trainers with the following items (if tasks are completed within the time limit): 1 Max Mushroom and 25,000 XP. Trainers will also get two additional bonuses during the event: 2× XP from Max Battles and Max Particle collection limit increased to 5,600.

According to Niantic, “[t]ickets are nonrefundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service).” Tickets can also be gifted to Trainers you’re friends with provided that you have a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with them. This can be done via the in-game shop and by selecting the “Gift” button instead of the “Buy” button. Tickets purchased for friends are nonrefundable as well.

Please keep in mind that Timed Research quests have deadlines. Trainers must complete this Gigantamax Snorlax Max Battle Day Timed Research and claim all rewards before Sunday, December 14th, 2025 at 5 p.m. your local time.
