Pokémon GO’s Season of Precious Paths’ Gigantamax Meowth Max Battle Day event guide

Another Gigantamax Pokémon joins Pokémon GO! For February, it’s Gigantamax Meowth. Get together with friends in-person (or via Remote Raid Passes) with a team of Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokémon to defeat Gigantamax Meowth and catch ’em for your own team.

Pokémon GO’s Season of Precious Paths – Gigantamax Meowth Max Battle Day

Begins: Sunday, February 15th, 2026 at 2 p.m. your local time.

Ends: Sunday, February 15th, 2026 at 5 p.m. your local time.

 

Pokémon debuts – Gigantamax Meowth

 

 

Gigantamax Meowth is here and can only be obtained from these special Six-Star Max Battles! Due to the nature of Meowth’s Gigantamax form being tied to its base form (not an evolution), any Meowth acquired from these Max Battles cannot be evolved into Persian.

 

Event Bonuses

• Max Particle collection limit increased to 1,600
• All Power Spots will host Gigantamax Battles
• Power Spots will refresh more frequently
• 8× Max Particles from Power Spots
• Up to four Special Trades for the day
• From February 14th, 2026 at 4 p.m. to February 15th, 2026 at 8 p.m. PST (GMT −8), the daily Remote Raid limit will increase from 10 to 20.
• Applies only to Max Particles obtained via the Nearby menu:
  • 2× Max Particles from exploring (active on February 15th, 2026 from 12 a.m. to 5 p.m. your local time)
  • 1/4 Adventuring distance to receive Max Particles (active on February 15th, 2026 from 12 a.m. to 5 p.m. your local time)
• 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance (Thursday, February 12th, 2026 at 10 a.m. to Sunday, February 15th, 2026 at 8 p.m. your local time)
  • Added due to the bonus not properly applying for some players during a previous event.
• If the Event Ticket is purchased: 2× XP from Max Battles

 

This event overlaps with the Valentine’s Day event, so the following bonuses will also be active:

• 2× XP for catching Pokémon
• 2× Stardust from opening Gifts
• Increased chance to encounter Shiny Nidoran♀ and Shiny Nidoran♂
• Increased chance to hatch Shiny Nidoran♀, Shiny Nidoran♂, and Shiny Cherubi
• If the Global Challenge is completed:
  • Free Timed Research awarding encounters with Spinda with a heart pattern
  • Successfully catching a Pokémon with a Curveball Throw will award 750 XP.
  • Gifts may include Rare Candy.

 

Plus, the following Season of Precious Paths bonuses will be in effect:

• One additional Special Trade per day
• Increased Stardust for the first catch of the day
• Increased friendship bonus damage dealt by Pokémon in Raids

 

And if Trainers reach specific ranks in the GO Pass and/or GO Pass Deluxe, then the following bonuses will also be active until Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026 at 10 a.m. your local time:

• Tier 1 (Rank 25): 
  • Open up to 40 Gifts per day
  • Receive up to 125 Gifts per day from spinning PokéStop and Gym Photo Discs
  • Hold up to 10 additional Gifts in your Item Bag
• Tier 2 (Rank 50):
  • 2× Daily Adventure Incense duration
• Tier 3 (Rank 75):
  • Up to two free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs per day
    • This bonus will not stack with the Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos – Tainan and Los Angeles’ Raid Lover ticket add-on.

If GO Pass Deluxe is purchased, then the following bonuses will also be active when Rank 25 is reached, until Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026 at 10 a.m. your local time:

• Tier 1 (Rank 25):
  • Open up to 50 Gifts per day
  • Receive up to 150 Gifts per day from spinning PokéStop and Gym Photo Discs
  • Hold up to 20 additional Gifts in your Item Bag

 

Event Boxes

If any special event boxes or bundles are released during the event, they’ll be listed here once the event is live. Daily bundles are also available and can be viewed online via the Pokémon GO Web Store.

• Gigantamax Meowth Max Battle Day Ultra Ticket Box (US$4.99, purchase limit 1, Pokémon GO Web Store only): 1 Ticket, 1 Premium Battle Pass, and 60 Reward Points.

 

Max Battles

Max Battles will be active during the event. All Power Spots will featured Six-Star Max Battles with Gigantamax Meowth:

• Six-Star Max Battles:  Gigantamax Meowth*.

• Max Battles require Max Particles (MP):
  • One-Star Max Battles cost 250 MP.
  • Two-Star Max Battles cost 400 MP.
  • Three-Star Max Battles cost 400 MP.
  • Five-Star Max Battles cost 800 MP.
  • Six-Star Max Battles cost 800 MP.

 

Timed Research – Gigantamax Meowth Max Battle Day Lead-up Timed Research

A Timed Research quest will be released prior to the event. This Timed Research is meant for Trainers to prepare for the Gigantamax Meowth Max Battles with a Dynamax Pokémon that has type advantage. Rewards include a Dynamax Machop* encounter, Machop Candy, Machop Candy XL, Stardust, and Max Particles.

• Task: Win a Max Battle
  • Reward: Dynamax Machop* encounter
• Task: Win 2 Max Battles
  • Reward: 25 Machop Candies
• Task: Win 3 Max Battles
  • Reward: 25 Machop Candies
• Task: Win 4 Max Battles
  • Reward: 25 Machop Candies
• Task: Win 5 Max Battles
  • Reward: 5 Machop Candy XL
• Completion Rewards: 7,500 Stardust and 1,500 Max Particles

PokéStop Showcase

During the event, PokéStop Showcases will be active. The theme of these contests is to submit the biggest Pokémon being requested. This section will be updated once the PokéStop Showcases are active.

• Saturday, February 14th, 2026 at 10 a.m. to Sunday, February 15th, 2026 at 8 p.m. your local time: Enamorus (Therian Forme only)

 

Paid Ticket – Gigantamax Meowth Max Battle Day

During the event, Trainers can purchase a ticket to access an event-themed Timed Research. For US$4.99 OR US$5.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll get the Gigantamax Meowth Max Battle Day Timed Research which rewards Trainers with the following (if tasks are completed within the time limit): 1 Max Mushroom, 25,000 XP, 6,400 Max Particles, and 2× XP from Max Battles.

According to the fine print, “[t]ickets are nonrefundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service).” Tickets can also be gifted to Trainers you’re friends with provided that you have a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with them. This can be done via the in-game shop and by selecting the “Gift” button instead of the “Buy” button. Tickets purchased for friends are nonrefundable as well.

Please keep in mind that Timed Research quests have deadlines. Trainers must complete this Gigantamax Meowth Max Battle Day Timed Research and claim all rewards before Sunday, February 15th, 2026 at 5 p.m. your local time.
