Pokémon GO’s Season of Precious Paths’ A Beautiful Day to Celebrate! Timed Research guide

During Pokémon Day’s Pokémon Presents, Pokémon GO’s segment featured a code for a free Timed Research. Celebrating this weekend’s Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos – Global and the 30th anniversary of Pokémon, this Timed Research features Kalos’ First Partner Pokémon. And while Trainers will only be able to focus on one of these First Partner Pokémon, all encounters will have a Special Background (themed after Pokémon X and Y).

Begins: Friday, February 27th, 2026 at 6 a.m. PT

Ends: Sunday, March 8th, 2026 at 5 p.m. your local time.

 

Pokémon featured – Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie

 

 

This free Timed Research is all about the First Partner Pokémon of Kalos – Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie. Though, due to this being a branching Timed Research, Trainers will only get encounters with only one of these Pokémon.

 

Timed Research – A Beautiful Day to Celebrate! Timed Research

A free, branching Timed Research was issued via Redemption Code during the Pokémon Presents held on Friday, February 27th, 2026 (on Pokémon Day and Pokémon’s 30th anniversary). The code can be redeemed via the official Pokémon GO Code Redemption page. You must be logged in into your Pokémon GO account when entering the code(s).

Step – Choose A Path

Pick one of the following:

• Choose Chespin: Will get six encounters with Chespin (3 with Special Background X and 3 with Special Background Y), 5 Chespin Candies, 650 Stardust, and 2,026 XP.
• Choose Fennekin: Will get six encounters with Fennekin (3 with Special Background X and 3 with Special Background Y), 5 Fennekin Candies, 650 Stardust, and 2,026 XP.
• Choose Froakie: Will get six encounters with Froakie (3 with Special Background X and 3 with Special Background Y), 5 Froakie Candies, 650 Stardust, and 2,026 XP.

 

Step 1/1 – Chespin

• Task: Catch a Pokémon
  • Reward: Chespin* encounter (Special Background X)
• Task: Catch a Pokémon on 2 different days
  • Reward: Chespin* encounter (Special Background Y)
• Task: Catch a Pokémon on 3 different days
  • Reward: Chespin* encounter (Special Background X)
• Task: Catch a Pokémon on 4 different days
  • Reward: Chespin* encounter (Special Background Y)
• Task: Catch a Pokémon on 5 different days
  • Reward: Chespin* encounter (Special Background X)
• Task: Catch a Pokémon on 6 different days
