The Season of Mythical Wishes is almost over and the Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn – Global event is almost here. To prepare Trainers for two days of catching, trading, battling, and more, an item stock-up event will be happening this week! In addition to hoarding plenty of Poké Balls and Berries, plenty of Hoenn region Pokémon will be available, including Rayquaza, Mega Latias, and Mega Latios.

Pokémon GO’s Season of Mythical Wishes – Primal Rumblings
Begins: Wednesday, February 22nd, 2023 at 10 a.m. your local time.
Ends: Friday, February 24th, 2023 at 10 p.m. your local time.
Pokémon spotlight – Hoenn region’s Starters and Legendaries
While Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon will be the focus of Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn – Global, other Hoenn Legendaries will get to take over Five-Star and Mega Raids. Rayquaza* will be available to battle in Five-Star Raids, and Mega Latias* and Mega Latios* will be available in Mega Raids.
Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip will be promoted throughout the event, appearing in both wild encounters and Raids.

Event Bonuses
- 2× XP for evolving Pokémon
- Large numbers of Absol will appear for 5 minutes at noon.

If any special event boxes or bundles are released during the event, they’ll be listed here once the event is live.
Wild Encounters
- The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild: Treecko*, Torchic*, Mudkip*, Wurmple*, Whismur*, Numel*, and Barboach*.
- If you’re lucky, you might encounter the following Pokémon: Grovyle, Combusken, Marshtomp, and Absol*.
- Note: Grovyle, Combusken, and Marshtomp were initially announced as Shiny versions being available. The event post was updated to no Shiny encounters in the wild.

Absol appearances – A Grim Omen?
Begins: 12 p.m. your local time, daily during the active event time
Ends: 12:05 p.m. your local time, daily during the active event time
Text has been discovered within the game that for five minutes, Absol* will appear during the event (internally referred to as A Grim Omen?). With the event now live, the Primal Rumblings section in the Today Menu describes the event as “[l]arge numbers of Absol will appear for 5 minutes at noon”.

Raids
The following Pokémon will be appearing in Raids:
- One-Star Raids: Treecko*, Torchic*, and Mudkip*
- Three-Star Raids: Grovyle*, Combusken*, and Marshtomp*
- Five-Star Raids: Rayquaza* (See Additional Notes).
- Mega Raids: Mega Latias* and Mega Latios* (See Additional Notes).

Featured Attack for Rayqyaza
Rayquaza will know the attack Breaking Swipe (Charged Attack) when caught from Five-Star Raids between Wednesday, February 22nd, 2023 at 10 a.m. to Wednesday, March 1st, 2023 at 10 a.m. your local time.
Breaking Swipe’s (Charged Attack) stats are as follows:
- Trainer Battles: 50 power + decreases your opponent’s Attack stat when used
- Gyms and Raids: 35 power
Field Research Tasks
There will be Hoenn-themed event-exclusive Field Research Tasks available and the rewards include various items. These Field Research Tasks can be found when spinning PokéStops (and acquired if you have an open slot in your Field Research menu) when the event is active.

Timed Research from Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn – Las Vegas
Codes for three Timed Research dedicated to Regirock, Regice, and Registeel were released at the Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn – Las Vegas event. The codes can be redeemed by non-ticket holders of the Las Vegas event via in-app (Android) or using the redemption code site. These codes may be advertised during the Global version of the Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn.

Special Research – Primal Rumblings
An unannounced Special Research called Primal Rumblings was launched prior to the event on Friday, February 17th, 2023 at 10 a.m. your local time. Perhaps released as a pre-event Special Research for Trainers attending the Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn – Las Vegas event, its main goal is to reward Trainers with plenty of items for the big GO Tour: Hoenn weekend as well as a ticket that grants bonuses during the two-day event (in-person Las Vegas or Global event?).

Collection Challenge – Primal Rumblings
A special, event-exclusive Collection Challenge will be available. According to Niantic, this Collection Challenge will reward Trainers with Ultra Balls, a Rocket Radar, and an addition to the Elite Collector medal. A complete list of what Pokémon must be caught/traded/evolved and the associated rewards will be added here once the event is live.
- Catch: Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip.
- Evolve: Grovyle into Sceptile, Combusken into Blaziken, and Marshtomp into Swampert.
- Rewards: 10 Ultra Balls, 1 Rocket Radar, and an addition to the Elite Collector medal.
Stickers
There will be an assortment of Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn-themed stickers featuring Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Kleceon, Primal Kyogre, and Primal Groudon. You can get them by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, and/or purchasing them from Pokémon GO’s in-game shop (with PokéCoins) during the event.
