Bug Out returns just before Spring begins in the Northern Hemisphere! For this year’s Bug Out event, Blipbug and Sizzlipede are featured. Blipbug and its evolutions join Pokémon GO and Sizzlipede can finally be shiny, if you’re lucky!

Pokémon GO’s Season of Memories in Motion – Bug Out
Begins: Tuesday, March 17th, 2026 at 10 a.m. your local time.
Ends: Monday, March 23rd, 2026 at 8 p.m. your local time.
Pokémon debuts – Shiny Sizzlipede, Shiny Centiskorch, Blipbug, Dottler, and Orbeetle
Blipbug and its evolutions debut in Pokémon GO! You can find Blipbug in One-Star Raids and in the GO Pass: Bug Out as a reward catch encounter. To get Dottler and Orbeetle, you can only obtain them through evolution.
- To get Dottler, you’ll need to evolve a Blipbug with 25 Blipbug Candies.
- To get Orbeetle, you’ll need to evolve a Dottler with 100 Blipbug Candies.
And lastly, Shiny Sizzlipede debuts! If you’re lucky and catch one, you can evolve them into Centiskorch by usng 50 Sizzlipede Candies.
Event Bonuses
- There will be different Pokémon attracted to regular Lure Modules during the event.
- Paras, Combee, and Cutiefly attracted to regular Lure Modules will have an increased chance to be Shiny.
A special GO Pass will be available for only this event (GO Pass: Bug Out 2026). If certain tiers are met, the following bonuses will also be active for the duration of the Bug Out event:
- Tier 1: 2× XP for successfully catching Pokémon with Nice Throws or better.
- Tier 2: 2× Candy for successfully catching Pokémon.
- Tier 3: 3× Candy for successfully catching Pokémon.
And during the Replay: Water Research Day event (on Saturday, March 21st, 2026 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. your local time) the following bonuses will be active:
- Increased chance of encountering Shiny Lotad, Shiny Feebas, and Shiny Clamperl.
- Increased chance of encountering the shiny versions of these Pokémon will be the same in Field Research tasks and Timed Research quests.
Plus, the following Season of Memories in Motion bonuses will be in effect:
- Increased XP for a seven-day PokéStop spin streak.
- Increased XP and Stardust for a seven-day Pokémon catch streak.
- One additional Candy when trading Pokémon in-person.
- Trainers level 31 and above will receive one guaranteed Candy XL when trading Pokémon in-person.
And if Trainers reach specific ranks in the GO Pass and/or GO Pass Deluxe, then the following bonuses will also be active until Tuesday, April 7th, 2026 at 10 a.m. your local time:
- Tier 1 (Rank 25):
- Open up to 40 Gifts per day
- Receive up to 125 Gifts per day from spinning PokéStop and Gym Photo Discs
- Hold up to 10 additional Gifts in your Item Bag
- Tier 2 (Rank 50):
- 2× Daily Adventure Incense duration
- Tier 3 (Rank 75):
- Increased Stardust and XP from hatching Eggs.
If GO Pass Deluxe is purchased, then the following bonuses will active when Rank 25 is reached instead, until Tuesday, April 7th, 2026 at 10 a.m. your local time:
- Tier 1 (Rank 25):
- Open up to 50 Gifts per day
- Receive up to 150 Gifts per day from spinning PokéStop and Gym Photo Discs
- Hold up to 20 additional Gifts in your Item Bag

If any special event boxes or bundles are released during the event, they’ll be listed here once the event is live. Daily bundles are also available and can be viewed online via the Pokémon GO Web Store.
Wild Encounters
- The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild: Caterpie*, Weedle*, Pineco*, Wurmple*, Kricketot*, Skorupi*, Sewaddle*, Dwebble*, Joltik*, Sizzlipede*, and Nymble*.
- If you’re lucky, you might encounter the following Pokémon: Scyther*.

Lure Module Encounters
Throughout the Bug Out event, different Pokémon will be attracted to regular Lure Modules.
- Tuesday, March 17th, 2026 at 10 a.m. to Thursday, March 19th, 2026 at 10 a.m. your local time: Paras* and Sizzlipede*.
- Thursday, March 19th, 2026 at 10 a.m. to Saturday, March 21st, 2026 at 10 a.m. your local time: Cutiefly* and Sizzlipede*.
- Saturday, March 21st, 2026 at 10 a.m. to Monday, March 23rd, 2026 at 8 p.m. your local time: Combee* and Sizzlipede*.

Field Research Tasks
There will be event-exclusive Field Research Tasks available and the rewards include the following: Poké Balls, Great Balls, Ultra Balls, and encounters with event-themed Pokémon. These Field Research Tasks can be found when spinning PokéStops (and acquired if you have an open slot in your Field Research menu) when the event is active.

PokéStop Showcase
During the event, PokéStop Showcases will be active. The theme of these contests is to submit the biggest Pokémon being requested. PokéStop Showcases will only be active on Tuesday, March 17th, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. your local time due to the new weekly Showcase Tuesday event.
