Team GO Rocket is early this season with crashing an event. Flying Taxi is getting Taken Over, and thus, new Shadow Pokémon will enter the mix for all Team GO Rocket members.

Now, check out what’s happening during the Flying Taxi: Taken Over event with our guide below:

Pokémon GO’s Season of Forever Forward – Flying Taxi: Taken Over

Begins: Thursday, June 25th, 2026 at 12 a.m. your local time.

Ends: Monday, June 29th, 2026 at 8 p.m. your local time.

Pokémon debuts – New Shadow Pokémon including Shadow Reshiram

A whole slew of Shadow Pokémon will be entering the Team GO Rocket Grunt encounter pool. Shadow Seel, Shadow Hoothoot, Shadow Noibat, and Shadow Rookidee debut. And, if you’re lucky, you may encounter a shiny Shadow version of each! Along with their Shadow versions debuting, you can also evolve them too. That means that Shadow Dewgong, Shadow Noctowl, Shadow Noivern, Shadow Corvisquire, and Shadow Corviknight are also available, provided you meet the evolution requirement for each Pokémon (Pokémon Candies and any additional items and/or conditions).

And, of course, Team GO Rocket Boss Giovanni is sporting a new Shadow Pokémon – Shadow Reshiram. You can only catch Shadow Reshiram by tracking down Team GO Rocket Boss Giovanni with a Super Rocket Radar at PokéStop. Unfortunately for this event, it has been changed that Giovanni will not be appearing via Team GO Rocket Balloons.

Event Bonuses

  • Team GO Rocket will appear more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons (Team GO Rocket Balloons will appear every two hours).
  • Charged TMs can be used with Shadow Pokémon to change their default Charged Attack (Frustration).
  • Shadow Pokémon caught via One- and Three-Star Shadow Raids during the event will have a wider variance of stats (Attack, Defense, and HP).

  • Tier 1 (Rank 10): 2× Catch Candy
  • Tier 2 (Rank 20): Earn more Stardust from defeating Team GO Rocket Grunts and Leaders.

And if Trainers reach specific ranks in the GO Pass and/or GO Pass Deluxe, then the following bonuses will also be active until Tuesday, July 7th, 2026 at 10 a.m. your local time:

  • Tier 1 (Rank 1):
    • One additional Candy for trading Pokémon.
    • Trainers level 31 and above will receive one guaranteed Candy XL when trading Pokémon.
  • Tier 2 (Rank 25):
    • Open up to 40 Gifts per day.

  • Tier 4 (Rank 75):

If GO Pass Deluxe is purchased, then the following bonuses will active when Rank 25 is reached instead, until Tuesday, July 7th, 2026 at 10 a.m. your local time:

    • Open up to 50 Gifts per day.
