The Season of Alola’s tropical vibes has inspired Team GO Rocket’s planning division. The yearly company-wide retreat will be mixing in Pokémon from the Alola region as well as transforming some Alolan Pokémon into Shadow Alolan Pokémon. For Pokémon Trainers around the world, it’s time to crash this company retreat and catch some new Pokémon along the way – including Giovanni’s latest Shadow Pokémon. Pokémon GO’s Season of Alola – All-Hands Rocket Retreat event
Begins: Sunday, April 3, 2022, at 12:00 a.m. your local time.
Ends: Thursday, April 7, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. your local time.
Event Bonuses
- Team GO Rocket will be appearing more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons.
- You can use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack Frustration.
Pokémon Debuts – Salandit, Salazzle, and Shadow Latias
More Pokémon from the Alola region are appearing in Pokémon GO! Though, this time you’ll find them thanks to Team GO Rocket Leaders. Salandit and Salazzle are making their debuts during this event.
You’ll find Salandit when hatching 12 km Eggs. After collecting 50 Salandit Candies, you can evolve a female Salandit into Salazzle.
As for Shadow Latias, you have Giovanni to thank. He’s back along with a new Special Research story so you can track him down a bit easier.
Shadow Pokémon
The entire Team GO Rocket organization has changed up their teams of Shadow Pokémon. Be prepared to encounter different Shiny Shadow Pokémon than normal, along with some newly transformed Shadow Pokémon. To keep with the Season of Alola theme, you’ll find the following Shadow Pokémon have been added to the game.
- New Shadow Pokémon via Team GO Rocket Grunts: Shadow Alolan Rattata, Shadow Alolan Sandshrew, Shadow Alolan Exeggutor, Shadow Sudowoodo, Shadow Girafarig, and Shadow Numel.
Eggs
Now with Salandit added to the 12 km Egg pool, you’ll find the following Pokémon in 12 km Eggs obtained from Team GO Rocket Leaders:
- 12 km Eggs
- 1 Egg Rarity: Pawniard, Larvitar*, Scraggy, and Vullaby*.
- 2 Egg Rarity: Sandile and Pancham.
- 3 Egg Rarity: Absol*, Deino*, Skorupi* , Skrelp, and Salandit.

Field Research Tasks
New event-exclusive Field Research Tasks will be available and the rewards will focus on Pokémon Encounters, Stardust, and healing items. These Field Research Tasks can be found when spinning PokéStops (and acquired if you have an open slot in your Field Research menu) when the event is active.
- Task: Defeat 2 Team GO Rocket Grunts
- Reward: 2 Super Potions OR 2 Revives
- Task: Catch 3 Shadow Pokémon
- Reward: 750 Stardust
- Task: Purify 3 Shadow Pokémon
- Reward: Seansel* Encounter
- Task: Defeat a Team GO Rocket Leader
- Reward: Scraggy Encounter

Special Research
Giovanni is back and he’s changed up his Pokémon team. Trainers, you’ll be tasked with rescuing Shadow Latias from him during the event. To help make your way to Giovanni, there’s a Special Research releasing along with the event (called Silent Schemes). Log in during the All-Hands Rocket Retreat event and the Special Research is yours forever – provided that you’ve completed previous Team GO Rocket Special Research events.
