While Trainers are sleuthing for clues and Costumed Pokémon encounters during the Detective Pikachu Returns event, they can also head over to the GO Battle League and participate in the seasonal GO Battle event. This time it’s a weekend-long event and can reward Trainers with a piece from the Geeta-inspired avatar collection. Pokémon GO’s Season of Adventures Abound – GO Battle Weekend: Geeta

Begins: Saturday, October 7th, 2023 at 12 a.m. your local time.

Ends: Sunday, October 8th, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. your local time.

 

Event Bonuses

  • 4× Stardust from win rewards. (This does not include the end-of-set rewards and will not stack with the 3× Stardust bonus from Master League rotation weeks.)
  • The maximum number of sets you can play per day will be increased from five to 20—for a total of 100 battles—from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. local time each day.
  • Free battle-themed Timed Research will be available. Rewards include the Geeta-Style Gloves avatar item.
  • A ticket for battle-themed Timed Research awarding Stardust, Rare Candy XL, and one Star Piece will be available for US$0.99 OR US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency).

 

Reward changes during GO Battle Weekend: Geeta

During the GO Battle Weekend: Geeta event, the following changes will be made to the GO Battle League premium track:

  • Guaranteed Rare Candy XL for Trainers level 31 and up for their second win in a set.
  • Guaranteed Rare Candy for Trainers level 30 and below for their second win in a set.
  • Increased Stardust rewards compared to the basic reward track.
  • The order of premium track rewards will be rearranged.

If any special event boxes or bundles are released during the event, they’ll be listed here once the event is live.

 

Timed Research – Free and Paid

For this event, there will be two Timed Researches made available. One is free for all Trainers that log into Pokémon GO during the event and the other is available with the purchase of a paid ticket. Regardless of which ones Trainers will want to complete, they must be finished by Sunday, October 8th, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. your local time.

 

 

Free Timed Research – GO Battle Weekend: Geeta

A special free Timed Research will be available and its tasks will focus on battling. Trainers who complete the research can look forward to the following rewards: an Avatar Item based on Geeta’s gloves and more. Niantic does note that Trainers who already own Geeta-Style Gloves, an avatar item distributed at Rank 20 (Ace Rank), will not receive another one.

Please keep in mind that Timed Research quests have deadlines. Trainers must complete and claim all rewards in this Timed Research by Sunday, October 8th, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. your local time.

 

GO Battle Weekend

  • Task: Battle in the GO Battle League 5 times
    • Reward: 7,500 XP
  • Task: Battle in the GO Battle League 10 times
    • Reward: 7,500 XP
  • Task: Use 10 Super Effective Charged Attacks
    • Reward: 7,500 XP
  • Task: Power up Pokémon 10 times
    • Reward: 7,500 XP
  • Completion Reward: 3 Rare Candies, 1 Elite Charged TM, and Geeta-Style Gloves (Avatar Item).

 

Paid Timed Research – “GO Battle Day: Stardust”

During the GO Battle Weekend: Geeta event, Trainers can purchase a ticket to access an event-themed Timed Research. For US $0.99 OR US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll get the event-exclusive Timed Research which rewards Trainers with the following items (if tasks are completed within the time limit): Stardust, 1 Star Piece, and Rare Candy.

Sales for this Timed Research will go live on Saturday, October 7th, 2023 at 12 a.m. your local time (and sales will end on Sunday, October 8th, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. your local time). According to Niantic, “[t]ickets are nonrefundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service).” Tickets can also be gifted to Trainers you’re friends with provided that you have a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with them. This can be done via the in-game shop and by selecting the “Gift” button instead of the “Buy” button. Tickets purchased for friends are nonrefundable as well.

Please keep in mind that Timed Research quests have deadlines. Trainers must complete and claim all rewards in this Timed Research by Sunday, October 8th, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. your local time.

Note: Like the previous GO Battle Weekend event, the paid Timed Research is misnamed. Chances are it won’t be updated to reflect the GO Battle Weekend event name.

 

GO Battle Day: Stardust

  • Task: Battle in the GO Battle League 10 times
    • Reward: 6,000 Stardust
  • Task: Battle in the GO Battle League 25 times
    • Reward: 6,000 Stardust
  • Task: Battle in the GO Battle League 50 times
    • Reward: 6,000 Stardust
  • Task: Use 15 Super Effective Charged Attacks
    • Reward: 6,000 Stardust
  • Task: Power up Pokémon 10 times
    • Reward: 6,000 Stardust
  • Completion Reward: 3 Rare Candy XL (if level 31 and up), 3 Rare Candies, and 1 Star Piece

 

Active Leagues

The following leagues will be active:

  • Great League
    • Pokémon must be at or below 1,500 CP to enter.
  • Ultra League
    • Pokémon must be at or below 2,500 CP to enter.
  • Master League Premier
    • No CP Limit.
    • Legendary Pokémon, Mythical Pokémon, and Ultra Beasts are not eligible.
    • 3× Stardust from win rewards (this does not include end-of-set rewards)
      • This will not stack with the 4× Stardust from win rewards bonus.
