At the end of Pokémon GO’s Season of Max Out, there’s a special global event that all Trainers can partake in. Not quite a GO Fest or Tour, the GO Wild Area event is pulling some inspiration from the Safari Zone, but with a spotlight on Electric- and Poison-type Pokémon. That’s because Toxel and Toxtricity are debuting (due in part to the Fukuoka, Japan in-person version of the event). We’ll also see the debut of Mighty Pokémon, Costumed Snorlax, GO Safari Balls, and more. There will also be some special Pokémon returning, in case you missed out on a previous event or two. (For more details about the Season of Max Out, you can check out our Season of Max Out guide hub.)
Now, check out what’s happening during the first day of Pokémon GO’s GO Wild Area: Global 2024 event with our guide below:
Pokémon GO’s Season of Max Out – GO Wild Area: Global 2024 Day 1
Begins: Saturday, November 23rd, 2024 at 10 a.m. your local time.
Ends: Saturday, November 23rd, 2024 at 6:15 p.m. your local time.
Pokémon debuts – Toxel, Toxtricity (Amped and Low Key Forms, plus Dynamax and Gigantamax), Costumed Snorlax (Studded Jacket), Mighty Pokémon, and more
- Toxel and Toxtricity (Global launch): Previously available during the in-person GO Wild Area event (and Toxel included in the Into the Wild event), Trainers can get Toxel and Toxtricity during this event. Both of Toxtricity’s forms will be available as well as Dynamax and Gigantamax versions. If you’re lucky, you may catch their shiny version!
- Snorlax wearing a studded jacket (Costumed Snorlax): Tossing aside the cowboy hat, Snorlax wil be wearing a studded jacket. If you’re lucky, you may catch their shiny version!
- Note: Going forward, this Snorlax will be referred to as “Costumed Snorlax”.
- Mighty Pokémon: Select Pokémon will appear in the wild as “Mighty”. Thes Mighty Pokémon are more likely to have high stats (Attack, Defense, HP), be XL or XXL, and challenging to catch. Shiny versions of Mighty Pokémon will also be available.
- Note: It is recommended to use GO Safari Balls to catch these Pokémon.
- GO Safari Balls: Not a Pokémon, but a new Poké Ball will be debuting during this event. Though, keep in mind, this Poké Ball isn’t compatible with Pokémon HOME. So, you won’t be available to transfer any Pokémon caught with a GO Safari Ball from Pokémon GO to Pokémon HOME (or probably Pokémon: Let’s GO! Pikachu and Eevee too).
- Note: The GO Safari Balls will be available via PokéStops and paid tickets.
- Pop Star Pikachu and Rock Star Pikachu (Costumed Pikachu): Previously available in 2021 (Pokémon GO Fest), Pop Star Pikachu and Rock Star Pikachu are back! Their shiny versions are also available, if you’re lucky.
- Primal Kyogre, Primal Groudon, Dialga (Origin Forme), and Palkia (Origin Forme): Previously available during limited time events, these four Pokémon will be featured in Primal and Five-Star Raids.
- Note: Dialga (Origin Forme) and Palkia (Origin Forme) will be available after the event, until Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024 at 10 a.m. your local time.
