With the Galar region’s Partner Pokémon finally here in Pokémon GO, Niantic is now setting their sights on some Legendary Pokémon. Zacian, the mascot of Pokémon Sword, not only debuts in Five-Star Raids, but so does their shiny version. (For more details about the Season of Max Out, you can check out our Season of Max Out guide hub.)

Now, check out what’s happening during the Legendary Heroes event with our guide below:

Pokémon GO’s Season of Max Out – Legendary Heroes

Begins: Thursday, September 26th, 2024 at 10 a.m. your local time.

Ends: Tuesday, October 1st, 2024 at 8 p.m. your local time.

Pokémon debuts – Zacian and Shiny Zacian

  • Zacian (and Shiny Zacian): If you’re looking to add Zacian to your team, you’ll want to seek out Five-Star Raids (including during Wednesday, October 2nd, 2024’s Raid Hour event). If you defeat Zacian in a Raid, you’ll have your chance at capturing one via the reward catch encounter.
    • Currently, it isn’t clear if Zacian can change between their forms in Pokémon GO (Hero of Many Battles and Crowned Sword). So far, Zacian is only shown in their Hero of Many Battles form in promotional images for this event.
  • Galarian Weezing: Previously limited to Three-Star Raids, Galarian Weezing can be obtained through evolution. Starting with this event, Koffing can evolve into Galarian Weezing. Koffing Candy cost as well as any other special requirements have yet to be disclosed by Niantic.
