As 2021 comes to a close, Niantic is wrapping up the year with a beloved Pokémon GO tradition — the December Community Day. Unlike other Community Days throughout the year, December’s event typically celebrates and revisits the Community Day events we saw in past months.
So! If you missed your chance to hoard a bunch of Shinies of your favorite Pokémon, or are just looking for an extra powerful, exclusive move battler, this weekend might be your time to shine. Check out all the details about the upcoming event below!
When is December Community Day?
December Community Day will take place over the course of two days: Saturday, December 18th, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time, and Sunday, December 19th, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time.
What Pokémon will be featured during December Community Day?
The Pokémon for Saturday, December 18th, are Machop, Roselia, Swablu, Gible, Snivy, and Fletchling.
The Pokémon for Sunday, December 19th are Eevee, Duskull, Shinx, Tepig, and Oshawott.
Will there be featured Pokémon in Eggs?
Yes. Charmander, Weedle, Abra, Gastly, Rhyhorn, Magikarp, Porygon, Elekid, Magby, Seedot, Piplup, and Budew will hatch from 2km Eggs.
Will there be featured Pokémon in Raids?
Yes. Charmander, Weedle, Abra, Gastly, Rhyhorn, Electabuzz, Magmar, Magikarp, Porygon, Seedot, and Piplup will appear in Raids.
Can December Community Day Pokémon be Shiny?
Yes, all featured Pokémon found in the wild, hatched from Eggs, and encountered in Raids can be Shiny.
Will Community Day-exclusive moves be available during December Community Day?
Yes. From December 17th, 10 a.m. PT to Monday, December 20th, 10 a.m. PT, Evolving Pokémon into Charizard, Beedrill, Alakazam, Machamp, Gengar, Gyarados, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Shiftry, Altaria, Empoleon, Luxray, Roserade, Garchomp, Rhyperior, Electivire, Magmortar, Leafeon, Glaceon, Porygon-Z, Dusknoir, Serperior, Emboar, Samurott, Talonflame, or Sylveon will yield exclusive moves.
Are there any extra bonuses for December Community Day?
Yes. During December Community Day, incense and lure modules activated during the event will last for three hours, catching Pokémon will earn you twice the XP and Stardust, and incubating Eggs during the event will result in 1/2 Hatch Distance.
From December 17th, 10 a.m. PT to Monday, December 20th, 10 a.m. PT, trades will have a 25% reduced Stardust cost, and players will have one extra special trade per day.
