Adventure Week is almost over, but thanks to Trainers during Pokémon GO Fest 2022, Ultra Unlock bonuses have been added to the event. One of these bonuses is a special Limited Research Day!

Available for one day only, you’ll still get to experience Adventure Week’s bonuses, Egg rates, Pokémon Raid appearances, and more. Yet, for this Research Day things are shaking up when it comes to Limited Research tasks and rewards, Tyrunt and Amaura encounters, and Pokémon that will be appearing in the wild. Get all the details with our guide below.

 

Pokémon GO’s Season of GO’s – Adventure Week’s Ultra Unlock: Research Day

Begins: Sunday, June 12th, 2022 at 11 a.m. your local time.

Ends: Sunday, June 12th, 2022 at 3 p.m. your local time.

 

Featured Pokémon – Cranidos and Shieldon

During the event, special Limited Research tasks will be active. These tasks can reward Trainers with Cranidos* or Shieldon*. Plus, Niantic has increased the Shiny rates for both Pokémon! These Limited Field Research Tasks can be found when spinning PokéStops (and acquired if you have an open slot in your Field Research menu) when the event is active. These tasks will be labeled as “Research Day” in-game. These are the tasks and the associated rewards:

  • Task: Catch 3 Rock-type Pokémon
    • Reward: Cranidos* OR Shieldon* Encounter.
  • Task: Catch 5 Pokémon with Weather Boost
    • Reward: Cranidos* OR Shieldon* Encounter.
  • Task: Use 3 Berries to help catch Pokémon
    • Reward: Cranidos* OR Shieldon* Encounter.
  • Task: Land 5 Nice Throws
    • Reward: Cranidos* OR Shieldon* Encounter.
  • Task: Land 3 Nice Throws in a row
    • Reward: Cranidos* OR Shieldon* Encounter.
  • Task: Land 3 Great Throws
    • Reward: Cranidos* OR Shieldon* Encounter.
  • Task: Land 2 Great Throws in a row
    • Reward: Cranidos* OR Shieldon* Encounter.
  • Task: Land 5 Curveball Throws
    • Reward: Cranidos* OR Shieldon* Encounter.
  • Task: Land 3 Curveball Throws in a row
    • Reward: Cranidos* OR Shieldon* Encounter.
  • Task: Batte in a Gym
    • Reward: Cranidos* OR Shieldon* Encounter.
  • Task: Battle in a Raid
    • Reward: Cranidos* OR Shieldon* Encounter.
  • Task: Use a Super Effective Charged Move
    • Reward: Cranidos* OR Shieldon* Encounter.
  • Task: Evolve 2 Rock-type Pokémon
    • Reward: Cranidos* OR Shieldon* Encounter.
  • Task: Power up a Pokémon 3 times
    • Reward: Cranidos* OR Shieldon* Encounter.
  • Task: Send 2 Gifts and add a Sticker to each
    • Reward: Cranidos* OR Shieldon* Encounter.
  • Task: Spin 2 PokéStops
    • Reward: Cranidos* OR Shieldon* Encounter.
  • Task: Take a snapshot of a Wild Rock-type Pokémon
    • Reward: Cranidos* OR Shieldon* Encounter.

 

Note: Pokémon marked with an * means that “If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one!”

 

Wild Encounters – Tyrunt and Amaura

 

 

Surprise! Tyrunt and Amaura will be available in the wild during Adventure Week! Initially limited to Eggs during the event, now they’ll be appearing in the wild and frequently too. Each will only be appearing during certain hours though.

Tyrunt can be found in the wild during the following hours:

  • 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. your local time
  • 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. your local time

 

Amaura can be found in the wild during the following hours:

  • 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. your local time
  • 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. your local time

 

Wild Encounters – All hours

  • The following Pokémon will be appearing in the wild: Diglett*, Alolan Diglett*, Geodude*, Alolan Geodude*, Onix*, Rhyhorn*, Sudowoodo*, Aron*, and Dwebble*.
