More Mega-Evolved Pokémon are joining Pokémon GO during the Season of Twilight Trails and for this event it’s Staraptor! Though, instead of this being a standard Mega Raid Day, Mega Staraptor will debut in Super Mega Raids. These Raids are more difficult than Mega Raids and will require your own team of Mega-Evolved Pokémon to face Mega Staraptor.
Note: Due to this event rolling out across the globe, it is recommended to utilize the official Pokémon GO map to find if a Gym in your area will host a Super Mega Raid. Only certain Gyms can host this type of Raid and early reports from Trainers are noting the lack of active Super Mega Raids in their areas.
Now, check out what’s happening during the Staraptor Super Mega Raid Day event with our guide below:

New Mega Level: Super Max
Along with Mega Staraptor’s debut, you’ll also be able to increase Mega Staraptor’s Mega Level to Super Max Level. During the Mega Finale event during the Season of Forever Forward, it was revealed that Pokémon that are eligible to unlock Super Max level can learn an additional Charged Attack while they’re Mega Evolved. For Staraptor, this means that they can learn Brave Bird+ (Charged Attack) when they’re Mega Evolved.
Brave Bird+ (Charged Attack)’s stats are the following:
- Trainer Battles: 70 power and decreases the user’s Defense by three stages
- Raid Battles: 150 power
Notes:
- The power of this additional Charged Attack will increase with the Pokémon’s Mega Level.
- In order to increase a Mega Pokémon’s level to Super Max you must increase a their Mega Level to the third level, Max.

This can be done via the in-game shop and by selecting the “Gift” button instead of the “Buy” button. Tickets purchased for friends are nonrefundable as well.
