Can you believe that Pokémon GO has been active for 10 years now? To celebrate this major milestone, there will be a short anniversary party. Just because it’s short doesn’t mean the party isn’t stopping after this, as July will also have GO Fest 2026: Global, a Pikachu-themed anniversary event, and more.

Now, check out what’s happening during the 10th Anniversary Party event with our guide below:

Pokémon GO’s Season of Forever Forward – 10th Anniversary Party

Begins: Saturday, July 4th, 2026 at 10 a.m. your local time.

Ends: Monday, July 6th, 2026 at 8 p.m. your local time.

Pokémon debuts – Gimmighoul holding a 10th anniversary coin + Costumed Pokémon return

While plenty of party hat-wearing and celebratory-themed Pokémon will be available for Pokémon GO’s 10th anniversary, this is one new costumed Pokémon debuting during this event and that’s Gimmighoul! Their costume is a modification to their coin – sporting a 10. Luckily this Gimmighoul holding a 10th anniversary coin will be available throughout the entire month of July, so you’ll have more than three days to discover this Gimmighoul.

Note: Going forward, these Pokémon will be referred to as “Costumed” rather than the exact outfit they are wearing (unless the same Pokémon has multiple costume versions active during the event).

Event Bonuses

  • 4× XP for catching Pokémon.
  • 4× Stardust for catching Pokémon.
  • Event-themed Pokémon appearing in the wild are more likely to be Shiny.
    • This only applies to Pokémon with party hat or cake-themed costumes.
  • Gimmighoul holding a 10th anniversary coin may have a Special Background!
    • This bonus will be active from Saturday, July 4th, 2026 at 10 a.m. to Friday, July 31st, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. your local time.
  • When you use a Coin Bag during this event, you may encounter Shiny Gimmighoul—if you’re lucky!
    • This bonus will be active from Saturday, July 4th, 2026 at 10 a.m. to Friday, July 31st, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. your local time.

And if Trainers reach specific ranks in the GO Pass and/or GO Pass Deluxe, then the following bonuses will also be active until Tuesday, July 7th, 2026 at 10 a.m. your local time:
