Pokémon GO’s Season of Rising Heroes’ GO Battle Day: Palmer event guide

A third event is being thrown into the mix with Pokémon GO this weekend. Trainers that want a break from the Let’s GO! and Team GO Rocket takeover events can set their sights on the GO Battle League and get in some extra battles. That’s right, it’s a GO Battle Day and this one will reward Trainers with an avatar item, provided they complete the one-day-only event’s Timed Research and haven’t earned it as a GBL rank reward already.

Pokémon GO’s Season of Rising Heroes – GO Battle Day: Palmer

Begins: Saturday, March 25th, 2023 at 12 a.m. your local time.

Ends: Saturday, March 25th, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. your local time.

 

 

Event Bonuses

• 4× Stardust from win rewards. (This does not include the end-of-set rewards and will not stack with the 3× Stardust bonus from Master League rotation weeks.)
• The maximum number of sets you can play per day will be increased from five to 20—for a total of 100 battles—from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. local time.

 

Note: Event bonuses from the Let’s GO! and Team GO Rocket takeover events will also be active during the GO Battle Day: Palmer event. Full lists of these bonuses can be found in those guides.

 

Timed Research

A special free Timed Research will be available during the entire day and its tasks will focus on battling. Trainers who complete the research can look forward to the following rewards: an Avatar Item based on Palmer’s gloves (from Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Brilliant Diamond, and Shining Pearl) and more. Niantic does note that Trainers who already own Palmer’s gloves, an avatar item distributed at Rank 20 (Ace Rank), will not receive another one.

Note: The following Timed Research is based on the previous GO Battle Weekend event, as Timed Research for GO Battle events tend to have the same tasks and similar rewards. Changes, if necessary, will be made after the event starts.

 

GO Battle Day

• Task: Battle in the GO Battle League 5 times
  • Reward: 7,500 XP
• Task: Battle in the GO Battle League 10 times
  • Reward: 7,500 XP
• Task: Use 10 Super Effective Charged Attacks
  • Reward: 7,500 XP
• Task: Power up Pokémon 10 times
  • Reward: 7,500 XP
• Completion Reward: 3 Rare Candies, 1 Elite Charged TM, and Palmer’s gloves (Avatar Item).

Active Competitions

The following leagues will be active:

• Ultra League
  • Pokémon must be at or below 2,500 CP to enter.
• Mountain Cup: Great League Edition
  • Pokémon must be at or below 1,500 CP to enter.
  • Only Ice-, Ground-, Rock, and Steel-type Pokémon are eligible.
    • The following Pokémon will not be allowed: Swampert.
