Another event returns during Pokémon GO’s Season of Memories in Motion! Initially held in July 2023, Riolu Hatch Day is back, and this time hopefully has some better Shiny Riolu rates this time. Also for this event, there will be a free Timed Research for all Trainers and a premium paid one will also be made available for purchase.

Now, check out what’s happening during the Replay: Riolu Hatch Day event with our guide below:

Pokémon GO’s Season of Memories in Motion – Replay: Riolu Hatch Day

Begins: Saturday, April 18th, 2026 at 11 a.m. your local time.

Ends: Saturday, April 18th, 2026 at 5 p.m. your local time.

Pokémon featured – Riolu

Riolu, Lucario’s pre-evolution, is typically limited to Eggs in Pokémon GO. And it’s typically the 10 km Eggs too! So, for this Hatch Day event, it’ll be easier, in theory, to obtain Riolu. And, if you’re lucky, a Shiny Riolu! Thankfully for the Hatch Day event, you’ll want to focus your attention on 2 km Eggs that are obtained by spinning PokéStops during event hours. From there, it’s time to get moving and take advantage of reduced hatch distance bonuses too!

Event Bonuses

  • Increased chance of hatching Shiny Riolu
  • Increased chance of receiving 2 km Eggs from spinning PokéStops
  • The following bonuses will not stack with bonuses from other Pokémon GO events or GO Passes:
    • 2× Candy from hatching Eggs
    • 2× XP from hatching Eggs
    • 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance
  • If the paid Timed Research is purchased, the following bonus will also be active:
    • 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance
      • This bonus will also not stack with bonuses from other Pokémon GO events or GO Passes.

This event is also taking place during the Sustainability Week event, so the following bonuses will also be active (as well as any bonuses from the event’s own dedicated GO Pass):

  • Different Pokémon will appear more frequently on Routes during the event
  • Increased chance to encounter Shiny Lapras, Shiny Togetic, Shiny Castform, and Shiny Trubbish
  • Increased chance to hatch Shiny Costumed Galarian Corsola and Shiny Castform

Sustainability Week GO Pass

  • GO Pass Bonuses:
    • Tier 1: 2× XP for spinning a PokéStop
    • Tier 2: 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in an Incubator during the event period
  • GO Pass Deluxe Bonus:
    • Tier 1: 3× XP for spinning a PokéStop

Plus, the following Season of Memories in Motion bonuses will be in effect:

  • Increased XP for a seven-day PokéStop spin streak.
  • Increased XP and Stardust for a seven-day Pokémon catch streak.
  • One additional Candy when trading Pokémon in-person.
  • Trainers level 31 and above will receive one guaranteed Candy XL when trading Pokémon in-person.

And if Trainers reach specific ranks in the GO Pass and/or GO Pass Deluxe, then the following bonuses will also be active until Tuesday, May 5th, 2026 at 10 a.m. your local time:

  • Tier 1 (Rank 25):
    • Open up to 40 Gifts per day
    • Receive up to 125 Gifts per day from spinning PokéStop and Gym Photo Discs
    • Hold up to 10 additional Gifts in your Item Bag
  • Tier 2 (Rank 50):
    • 2× Daily Adventure Incense duration
  • Tier 3 (Rank 75):
    • Increased Stardust and XP from hatching Eggs.

If GO Pass Deluxe is purchased, then the following bonuses will active when Rank 25 is reached instead, until Tuesday, May 5th, 2026 at 10 a.m. your local time:

  • Tier 1 (Rank 25):
    • Open up to 50 Gifts per day
