During Pokémon GO’s Season of Memories in Motion a new feature was introduced – Daily Discoveries. Each day of the week would have different events and/or perks (but only happening Sunday through Friday). Already there were longstanding events for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, so it was quite the surprise when Daily Discoveries didn’t list the six-year running Spotlight Hour for Tuesday. Instead, Trainers will be getting Showcase Tuesday. And now that we’re in the Season of Forever Forward, these Daily Discoveries are still happening (Sunday through Tuesday) along with the return Showcase Tuesday.
Initially, the first Showcase Tuesday had PokéStop Showcases only active from 12 a.m. to 11:59 a.m. your local time. Due to feedback from Trainers, the PokéStop Showcase time was changed to 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. your local time starting on Tuesday, March 10th, 2026. Further changes were made during the Season of Forever Forward. Trainers could enter up to five PokéStop Showcases during the Showcase Tuesday event (instead of just three during the Season of Memories in Motion. Another change concerns the number of showcases. During the Season of Memories in Motion, there we 20 categories active throughout the event. Now during the Season of Forever Forward, only five categories from that pool of 20 will be featured during a PokéStop Showcase Tuesday event. This may change on a weekly basis as well as throughout the rest of the Season of Forever Forward. It also appears that Showcase Tuesday will be staying for the long term, as further updates during the Season of Forever Forward made more changes to other weekly events as well as announcing the return of Pokémon Spotlight Hour (which will be taking place on Thursdays).
Now, here’s what happening during a special run of PokéStop Showcases:
What time will the PokéStop Showcase start?
While PokéStop Showcase Tuesday is typically on Tuesday, this week is a bit different. During the Pokémon Horizons: The Series Celebration Event 2026 there will be daily PokéStop Showcase events. So, a PokéStop Showcase event will be active on Saturday, September 19th, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. your local time.
How many PokéStop Showcases can I enter?
Trainers can enter up to five PokéStop showcases during this PokéStop Showcase event.
What characteristic/feature will Pokémon be scored on?
Pokémon submitted to PokéStop Showcases during Showcase Tuesday will be awarded points based on biggest size. A Pokémon’s height, weight, and IVs are used to calculate points, with height taking up 80% of the calculation.
Which categories will be featured during the PokéStop Showcase event?
Up to four of the following 20 categories will be active during Showcase Tuesday:
- Great Buddy or higher
- Rock-type Pokémon
Once the event starts, the active categories from this list will be confirmed and this guide will be updated. The change to only four categories began during the Season of Forever Forward and it is possible that further changes may occur during this season.
Will Showcase Tuesday return next week?
Yes, Showcase Tuesday will return next week on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2026. Based on the previous weeks of this event, there is a chance that four different categories from the pool of 20 will be selected for next week’s event.
Though, due to this being a special PokéStop Showcase event, more PokéStop Showcase events will be happening daily while the Pokémon Horizons: The Series Celebration Event 2026 is active. So there will be another PokéStop Showcase event tomorrow.
