Lyn, one of the heroes of Fire Emblem: Blazing Blade, returns in Fire Emblem Engage as the Emblem of the Lady of the Plains, who will assist your army in its quest.

Lyn as an Emblem is built around two themes: striking without fear of counterattack and LOTS of Speed. Her Synchro Skill Alacrity allows you to make your follow-up attacks before foe’s counterattacks if your speed is high enough. Engage Skill Call Doubles will summon 1 HP Mani Katti-wielding afterimages around your unit, providing chain attacks, a positional shield, and dodge-happy decoys that enemies will love targeting. And Engage Attack Astra Storm can strike enemies with a volley of arrows from far away, either taking a chunk of HP off a heavyweight or deleting fliers from existence. All this and her bow-focused setup makes Lyn great for high Spd/low Def units, people who could benefit from a ranged option, or someone you want to hold down an edge of the map by their lonesome, though keep in mind the Doubles won’t earn her paired unit EXP.

Lyn’s first Engage Weapon is the Killer Bow, stronger than the generic Killer Bow you can obtain and maintains the nice Crit bonus. Her Mani Katti provides both good Crit and effectiveness against Armor and Cavalry, enemy types she may struggle against otherwise. And her ultimate Mulagir bow not only boosts your unit’s speed (which given her kit is even better than usual) but is effective against dragons.

How to obtain Lyn

Lyn will automatically join your squad a few turns into Chapter 11: Retreat. For the duration of the map, she’ll be equipped to Ivy, who joins your army at the exact same time, but after you clear the chapter you can equip her to whomever you’d like.

Who Is Lyn?

Lyndis (VA: Makiko Ohmoto [JP] / Wendee Lee [EN]) was born to the Lorca tribe on the plains of Sacae, living a happy life with her mother Madelyn and father Hassar, the chief. Tragically, bandits one day ravaged the tribe and killed everybody but Lyn, leaving her alone. After helping out a lone tactician, she’s found by knights Sain and Kent of Caelin, who reveal that Madelyn was a noble lady of the county and that Lyn’s grandfather (Marquess Caelin) is still alive but ailing. Lyn thus journeys to Caelin to reunite with her sole living relative and put a stop to the treacherous plot of her uncle Lundgren. After completing her quest, she would go on to help friends Eliwood and Hector search for Eliwood’s father and unravel a plot to ravage the continent of Elibe. Lyn is good-natured and genial, but also has a stern pride in relation to her aptitude and heritage.
