Pokémon Legends: Arceus marks the biggest change-up for the series, taking things in a new direction in several ways. This doesn’t mean you won’t be rewarded for sticking with previous titles, as multiple special bonuses will be gifted to Trainers with play record data for previous Pokémon titles. The majority are customization items, giving you some extra outfits, but you’ll also be able to pick up a pair of Mythical Pokémon!
Read on to learn what all these special bonuses are, and what Pokémon games you’ll need to have save data for to earn them.
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl special bonuses
Darkrai
For having save data on your Switch for either of the Switch’s Sinnoh remakes, the main get will be access to Darkrai. You’ll gain access to a special research request in Pokémon Legends: Arceus that will allow you to encounter and catch the Pitch Black Pokémon once you’ve completed the game’s main story.
Modern Team Galactic Set
For having save data for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and/or Shining Pearl, you’ll also gain a new outfit – the Modern Team Galactic Set. You can pick this up fairly early in the game by speaking to the clothier after joining the Galaxy Expedition Team, which will take about one hour of play time to reach. The full set contains the following:
- Modern Jacket
- Modern Trousers
- Modern Shoes
Pokémon Sword and Shield special bonuses
Shaymin (Land Forme)
If you’ve journeyed through Galar, you’ll also gain a Mythical Pokémon encounter! Shaymin will be available to anyone with save data from either Pokémon Sword or Shield, specifically in its Land Forme. This research request is also only available in Jubilife Village after you’ve seen Legends’ credits roll.
Shaymin Kimono Set
The Shaymin theme is kept for this special bonus outfit, letting players don the Shaymin Kimono Set if they have save data for Pokémon Sword and/or Shield.
Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! special bonuses
Pikachu Mask and Eevee Mask
Anyone who had a nostalgic trip through Kanto will have an extra cute gift waiting for them. While the Pikachu Mask and Eevee Mask items might imply they’re locked to a particular game’s data, according to the official Pokémon Legends: Arceus site you should be able to pick up both pieces of headwear for having play data from either Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu or Let’s Go, Eevee! – no need to have both.
To get these masks, just head to the clothier after joining the Galaxy Expedition Team. Getting to this point will take about one hour of play time.
