Pokémon Legends: Arceus is here, drawing players into the Hisui region for an all-new kind of adventure. New species and situations can be found throughout, and we’re here to help you fill out your Pokédex! While plenty of what you’ll find will be familiar, some of the brand new Pokémon or regional Hisuian forms you’ll find have unique methods to evolve them.
Among these are Qwilfish, whose new Hisuian form also gained a brand new evolution – Overqwil! Despite having a name with a spelling that hurts to look at, Overqwil’s unique evolution method isn’t too demanding, and only requires using a certain one of its moves enough times.
Where to find Hisuian Qwilfish in Pokémon Legends: Arceus
Wild Hisuian Qwilfish can be found in two parts of Hisui:
- The Obsidian Fieldlands (specifically at Ramanas Island)
- Cobalt Coastlands (at Tranquility Cove, Lunker’s Lair, and Islespy Shore)
How to evolve Hisuian Qwilfish into Overqwil in Pokémon Legends: Arceus
To evolve Hisuian Qwilfish into Overqwil, you’ll need to use the new attack Barb Barrage 20 times while in Strong Style. Once this is done, you can evolve Hisuian Qwilfish from the Pokémon menu.

Hisuian Qwilfish learns Barb Barrage fairly early. You’ll have access to it, and thus Overqwil’s evolution method, at Level 15.
