While Sinnoh has a fairly modest Pokédex of its own, it did give plenty of Pokémon much needed evolutions. Several new methods were introduced, including evolution brought about by knowing certain moves. Seven evolutions were move dependent in Gen IV, and have remained so in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. One of these evolutions is Tangrowth, the Gen IV evolution of Gen I’s Tangela.

Where to find Tangela in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Tangela can be found in some Pokémon Hideaways of the Grand Underground, but only once you have the National Pokédex.

How to evolve Tangela into Tangrowth in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Tangela is the first of a few Pokémon that evolves via the move Ancient Power. It learns the move naturally at level 24, but you’ll only be able to catch Tangela well past that point. If you get your Tangela this way, head to the Move Reminder in Pastoria City and have it remember Ancient Power. Then level up once, and it will evolve into Tangrowth!
