Sinnoh introduced several means of evolution for older Pokémon, and while we’ve drifted away from some of those since Sword and Shield, many are back in full force for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. This includes a pair of Pokémon that only reach their full potential when leveled up within one of the region’s most distinguishing landmarks – Mt. Coronet.

Here’s how to evolve Magneton into Magnezone in Pokémon BDSP. To learn how to evolve Nosepass, check out our Probopass guide.

Where to find Magnemite in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Magnezone is an Electric/Steel special attack powerhouse (and also a pretty cool Pokémon design) that made its debut in Gen IV. The first step to getting one in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is to get yourself a Magnemite, which can be found earliest in various areas of the Grand Underground as a rare spawn (check out our Grand Underground guide to learn how to unlock it).

Magnemite can be found in the following areas:

How to evolve Magneton into Magnezone in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Once you’ve evolved your Magnemite into Magneton at level 30, make your way to Mt. Coronet (the earliest entrance being between Routes 207 and 208) and gain one more level. The special magnetic field of the area will evolve it into Magnezone!
